Chapter 414 An Invisible

Mia took away Ava in the car.

She remained silent, sitting in the passenger seat, even forgetting to fasten her seat belt. Mia liked to do it for her, and then they drove off.

Mia drove for several minutes, and neither of them spoke. Mia glanced at Ava several times, feeling a bit worried, and finally couldn't help but speak, "I know it's my fault. I shouldn't have brought you here. I never expected Alexander to..."

"Mom," Ava interrupted, "It's not your fault. You didn't want this. It's okay. I'm used to it."

Seeing Ava's calm expression, Mia could imagine how many times she had been hurt.

Often, people became numb not because they were naturally cold but because they had experienced too much and realized that certain things couldn't be changed.

After a moment of thought, Mia spoke up, "Don't tell him about the pregnancy. I take back what I said earlier because I suddenly feel that he doesn't deserve to know."

Ava felt a pang in her heart. "Mom, do you really think so?"

Mia nodded. "He doesn't deserve to be a father. You can find someone better, and don't worry about the child not having a father."

Ava smiled weakly and said, "I don't have to find anyone. It's fine like this. I will take care of my child."

More importantly, she and the child would no longer be hurt.

"You're right." Mia said, "Decide as what you want. Just don't let yourself down. You're still young, and there's still time. Most importantly, you have something that most people don't." Ava nodded. "Yes."

She gently caressed her belly. "I have my baby, and he will be with me. I'm not afraid of anything."

Mia frowned. "I'm not talking about the baby in your belly. Who doesn't have a baby? Even animals have babies. There's nothing to be proud of."

Ava was speechless. "Then what are you referring to?"

"I'm talking about the money in your account. Don't forget, you're a wealthy woman now." Ava suddenly realized. "I see. What you said makes sense. At least I don't have to worry about finances, or it would be even worse."

"So, the divorce is not making things worse, but providing help in a difficult situation," Mia said, "This is probably the only good thing Alexander has done."

Upon hearing the name, Ava's face darkened slightly. For Ava, his name was a shadow from any angle, and it would be best if it never appeared in her world again.

Later, Mia didn't say much and sent Ava back to her residence.

When they arrived at the door, Mia stopped the car.

Ava unfastened her seat belt. "Mom, do you want to come upstairs and sit for a while?"

"There is no need. You go back and rest."

Ava responded, "Thank you, Mom."

"Why are you being so polite? You don't need to thank me. Go back."

Though usually serious, Mia also had her gentle moments.

Ava opened the car door, got out, and watched Mia leave before turning to walk into the residential area.

Just as she reached the entrance, she noticed a figure pacing back and forth.

Seeing the figure, Ava's heart leaped, and she hastened her steps. "William."

William heard the voice, turned around, and gave a faint smile when he saw Ava.

Ava stood before him. Seeing him, she felt a surge of happiness. "You're here. Why didn't you come up?"

William replied, "You weren't home, so I waited here for you."
