Chapter 727 Bystanders See Clearly

Eason sat in the driver's seat, waiting quietly.

Vicky glanced over. "Mind if I call you Eason?"

"Not at all," Eason replied with a smile. "You can call me whatever you like, Ms. Bennett."

"You call me Ms. Bennett?"

"Yeah," Eason nodded. "What else should I call you?"

Vicky chuckled at his sweet tone. "How about Sis?"

"I can't do that. I already have a sister," Eason said, turning to look out the window.

Vicky smirked. "So, only Ava gets to be your sister?"

"Of course. I only have one sister, and that's Ava," Eason said with a sweet smile. "She's great. I really like her."

"Do you like my brother?" Vicky asked.

Eason went silent, looking confused. "Why would I like William?"

"So, you don't like him?"

Eason pouted. "I'm not telling you. It's a secret."

"Alright, but it's obvious you don't."

Eason shrugged. "He's amazing. What does it matter if I like him or not? Just because he's your brother, will you be upset if I don't like him?"

"Of course not."

"Then why ask? Afraid I'll mess up his relationship with Ava?" Eason shot back.

"Do you want to ruin it?" Vicky asked, sensing Eason wasn't as simple as he seemed.

Maybe Ava saw him as just a brother, but Vicky knew better. A bystander sees more clearly.

Eason's silence was his answer.

Vicky continued, "Don't worry. Even if you want to ruin it, I won't say anything. If you can make them divorce without hurting either of them, then I'll be glad."

Eason squinted. "So, you want them to divorce?"

"I'm just saying, let's see what you can do," Vicky replied, leaving her words open-ended.

The next day.

Ava had set an alarm to wake up early, but she woke up before it went off. It was only 7 AM.

No missed calls, just a few messages—one from Vicky checking in, and one from Eason. Nothing from Alexander.

Three hours until her surgery.

'Alexander, please call me, please,' Ava silently hoped.

William walked into the hospital room, carrying breakfast.

He had come in quietly but saw Ava was already awake.

"Ava, you're up. Why not sleep a bit more?" William asked.

Ava hid her phone. "William, you're up too."

"Yeah, couldn't sleep, so I got up early and bought breakfast."

Ava smiled. "I can't eat breakfast, I have surgery."

William lightly tapped his head. "I forgot."

"It's okay," Ava said with a smile. "You eat. You've been taking care of me, it's tiring."

"I'm not tired. When I was in trouble before, you stayed up all night to take care of me. Compared to that, this is nothing," William said, sitting by the bed and gently touching her hair. "Ava, don't feel any pressure. I'm good to you because you're good to me. We take care of each other. That's enough."

At that moment, Ava's phone vibrated.

She quickly checked it, but it was just a spam message. She sighed and put the phone aside.

William noticed her anxiety. "Are you waiting for someone to call or message you?"

Ava forced a smile. "William, I don't want to hide it from you. I went to see Alexander yesterday."

"What?" William's expression turned cold. "You went to see him? Did Vicky take you?"

"Yes," Ava admitted. "I begged Vicky to take me. She didn't want to, but I forced her because I had to see Alexander."

William clenched his fists. "Did you see him?"
