Chapter 1143 The End of the Line
Alexander walked in, and Ava brushed past him, found a thermometer, and then went to the bedside to take Bishop's temperature.
After a while, she picked up the thermometer and saw that he had a high fever.
"Bishop, you have a fever. We need to go to the hospital."
Ava tried to help him up, but Bishop grabbed her wrist, "I can't go to the hospital. I'm fine. I'll be better after a night's sleep."
"No way, your temperature is too high, and with your injury, your wound must be infected."
"I'm really fine, don't worry. Do you have any fever medicine?"
Alexander saw how anxious Ava was. He closed his eyes, took a deep breath to control his anger, and stepped forward, saying, "I can get a doctor to come and treat him."
Ava turned her head and asked, "Will they keep it a secret?"
"I promise they will. I know some people who are very professional and specialize in discreet treatments. They won't say a word."
Ava thought for a moment, then looked at Bishop again, "Can we let the doctor come? Otherwise, you could be in danger. Please."
Ava was really worried about Bishop. She couldn't just watch his condition worsen.
Seeing Ava so anxious, Bishop didn't want her to worry. Even if it meant taking some risks, it was better than letting Ava worry about him. So he nodded, "Okay."
He didn't trust Alexander, but he trusted Ava.
"Then wait for me a moment." Ava tucked him in and then went to Alexander, "Thank you."
The two of them then left the room.
Alexander took out his phone from his pocket, dialed a number, said a few words, and then gave an address.
After he finished, he hung up the phone, "They'll be here within half an hour."
"Alexander, Bishop must not have any accidents. If something happens to him, it means something happens to me." Ava's words were a warning to Alexander.
"Why do you doubt me like this? Do you think I want to kill him?"
"Would you?" Ava asked, "Alexander, since he came to Berlyn, have you met him privately?"
"No." Alexander said coldly, "Ava, you don't think I caused his injury, do you?"
"Yes, I suspect it, but I'm not sure if it was you, so I want to ask clearly. If it was really you, I hope you admit it."
Alexander clenched his fists, "If it was really me, then by bringing those doctors here, wouldn't he be in more danger? Why would you agree? Do you doubt me or trust me?"
"I don't know, I'm conflicted, Alexander. I'm right here now. If the doctors you bring harm him, I'll hate you forever. I trusted you once before in Stellaria and handed Bishop over to you. This time, I'm handing Bishop over to you again. Don't let me down."
"How important is he to you now? Is he more important than William?"
"That's not the point." Ava interrupted him, "I just want to know if his injury has anything to do with you."
Alexander suppressed the pain in his heart, "Believe it or not, it wasn't me. If you want to suspect someone, suspect William."
"Was it really not you?" Ava pressed.
She stared directly at him, trying to see the answer in his eyes.
They said eyes didn't lie.
She saw anger and resentment in Alexander's eyes.
Alexander gritted his teeth and suppressed his anger, saying, "If it was me, may I die a horrible death and be cursed with no descendants."
