Chapter 1068 Heart-Wrenching
All her emotions were stirred up by him, yet now he was pretending to be careful. As long as he left, everything would be fine for her. He understood that but was entangled with her. He was always this selfish.
"Ava, I did lie to you, but I just wanted to be with you so badly. I didn't know what else to do."
Alexander's face was full of humility. "Can you..."
He reached out, trying to touch her. But Ava stepped back several paces. "Don't touch me!"
At that moment, a cold voice came through.
"Mr. Mitchell, she told you to stay away from her. Why can't you understand her words?"
Hearing the familiar voice, Ava turned around in shock and saw Bishop leaning against the wall not far away. Dressed in black casual wear, he exuded an innate aura of dominance with his hands in his pockets.
She asked, "Bishop, what are you doing here?"
Bishop stood up straight and slowly walked towards Ava, then stood by her side.
Alexander was also very surprised. "What are you doing here?"
"I'm just here for a little vacation, thinking I'd visit a friend." Bishop turned his head to look at Ava, his eyes filled with gentleness. "How have you been lately?"
Ava nodded, her eyes filled with excitement. "I've been good."
"That's good." Bishop then looked at Alexander, his gaze turning colder. "I'll take her back. Please stay away from her."
"Bishop, do you know what you're doing?" Alexander clenched his fists, extremely angry.
Did he take what he said last time as a joke?
"Of course I know. This is Berlyn, not Stellaria. My enemies aren't here, unless you want to broadcast this to everyone and let them know I'm here."
Ava felt something was off with Bishop's words. "What do you mean?"
"Nothing." Bishop said, "Let's go. I'll take you back."
He gently placed his hand on Ava's back, guiding her forward.
"Stop." Alexander blocked Bishop. "Ava, don't go with him. He's not safe. Come with me; I'll take you back."
"Alexander, can you stop pestering me?" Ava didn't want to see Alexander at all right now.
She was fed up with his constant lies and deceit, from Isabella at the beginning to now.
"Did you hear that?" Bishop sneered. "Stop pestering her, or I won't be polite."
"Bishop, this isn't your turf." Alexander threatened harshly.
"So what? Do you think I can't do anything?" Bishop laughed dismissively.
Alexander wanted to say something more, but Ava immediately said, "Enough. Alexander, stop pushing my limits. Move aside."
Seeing the pain and anger in Ava's eyes, Alexander was in extreme agony.
Suddenly, Bishop grabbed Alexander by the collar and pinned him against the wall.
Just as Alexander was about to fight back, Bishop pressed him hard, gritting his teeth. "I'll protect Ava. You should focus on your Madison."
With that, Bishop let go of Alexander's collar without mercy and then left with Ava.
Alexander fell to the ground, clenched his fists, and laughed heart-wrenchingly.
