Chapter 1296 Multiple Sources of Power
Alexander and Bishop arrived at the hospital, where Brandon was waiting.
Not only was Brandon there, but William was also standing behind him.
Alexander's face looked exceptionally grim. Previously, he had a big fallout with William over the custody of the child.
"Mr. Smith, what are you doing here?" Alexander directly ignored William.
William stood to the side, his cold gaze fixed on Alexander. He didn't show much emotion, but there was always something calculating in his eyes.
"I'm here to see your mother," Brandon said. "And I know everything. Ava is in trouble."
Alexander said coldly, "I know about your relationship with my mom. I have nothing to say about you visiting her, but what does Ava's trouble have to do with you? Is it because she was married to William?"
"Alexander, I'm not here to argue with you. Do you want to find Ava or not? The more people, the better. I can mobilize many resources for a thorough search. Just tell me if you want my help or not."
Having more people to search for Ava was naturally a good thing for Alexander, but he couldn't shake the feeling that something was off when he saw William's malicious gaze.
"Alexander, I told Brandon about this to have more people looking for Ava. Do you really care about her? Or are you so caught up in our conflict that you don't even want to use Brandon's help? That's pretty selfish of you."
William's words were harsh. Alexander had gone to great lengths for Ava, risking everything, and now William was calling him selfish. Naturally, Alexander didn't agree with him.
But they were in a hospital, a public place, and he couldn't lose his composure.
"William, you know who's really selfish between us. Anyone with eyes can see it. I'm not going to argue with you about this." Alexander then turned to Brandon, "Are you genuinely trying to find her, or are you just helping William and will do whatever he says?"
Brandon's brow furrowed, and he quickly said seriously, "I genuinely want to find Ava. To avoid any misunderstanding, I can tell you the truth: Ava is my biological niece."
Alexander was slightly taken aback, "What did you say?"
"I investigated Ava's background. Ava wasn't born to her parents; she was adopted. I found out that Ava is my older brother's daughter, an illegitimate child. Due to some reasons back then, she had to be sent away."
Upon hearing this, Bishop immediately said, "Ava has been searching for her origins. So, she belongs to the Smith family."
Now it finally made sense why Ava had that bracelet.
"This is a long story," Brandon said. "The most important thing now is to find Ava. Everything else can be discussed later. We must cooperate now."
Brandon picked up a document folder from the table and handed it to Alexander. "This is what I found out about Eason. Eason's mother died when he was very young. He grew up in an orphanage, and a few years ago, there was a severe fire at the orphanage that killed many people, including the director and many staff members. If I'm not mistaken, Eason was behind it."
Alexander took out the documents from the folder. Brandon had indeed found a lot about Eason.
He had also sent people to investigate, but had only found trivial things, nothing as substantial as what Brandon had discovered.
Brandon continued, "I now have reason to believe that Eason is targeting your family, the Mitchell family. Mia getting shot was very likely his doing. Your mother needs to be relocated immediately."
