Chapter 847 Paranoid Madness
Vicky's words really set Dalton off.
He looked like he was about to snap, eyes cold and wild.
"Vicky, get lost! From now on, don't even think about coming back without my say-so!"
Dalton turned to leave.
Vicky scrambled up, just as mad, and yelled, "Dad, you're too much! You used my mom, dumped her, and then divorced her for another woman. How do you sleep at night?"
Dalton stopped, fists clenched, and hissed, "Did Hailey put you up to this?"
"It's got nothing to do with Mom!" Vicky shot back. "I just wanna know who this woman is that got you hooked! And she's not even young!"
If Dalton had cheated with a younger woman, Vicky might've understood, even if she'd still be mad. But a middle-aged woman with a family? Unreal!
"She didn't seduce me!" Dalton snapped. "You wanna know about Mia? Fine. She was my first love, the one I really cared about. I married your mom for power and ditched her. Now, I'll do anything to get her back. I even raped her and filmed it to blackmail her. If she doesn't sleep with me, I'll spill everything to Scarlett, Alexander, and George. I'll make sure the Bennett family never has peace, so she caved!"
Dalton's face twisted into a crazed grin, and he started laughing. "So now you get it?"
He stormed over to Vicky, grabbed her shoulders, and said, "I'll do anything to get what I want. Don't push me. Daughter or not, I won't hold back! No one can stop my love, no one!"
Dalton looked like a beast ready to tear everything apart, totally unhinged.
Vicky's eyes went wide with fear, and she stumbled back.
"Dad, are you nuts? If that's the case, it proves she doesn't want you at all. This won't get you love!"
"Say that again!" Dalton growled, fists clenched.
Vicky found her courage, thinking of heartbroken Hailey. She took a deep breath and said, "Dad, you're crazy. This won't get you love. It's obsession, madness. No wonder Mia looks down on you. Even when I said she seduced you, she didn't care. She really despises you, doesn't love you at all. She just feels disgust."
Dalton lunged at her, pinning Vicky against the wall, his hand around her neck.
"Vicky, don't think I won't hurt you just 'cause you're my daughter! You don't know me; I can do anything!"
Vicky could barely breathe, her face turning red.
Finally, Dalton let go and shoved her aside.
"Get out!"
If Vicky weren't his daughter, she'd be dead by now.
But blood is blood. No matter how mad Dalton was, he couldn't kill her.
Vicky gasped for air, taking a few seconds to catch her breath.
She turned to leave.
Suddenly, Dalton called out, "Wait a minute."
Vicky stopped, stumbling as she turned around.
Dalton took a deep breath, trying to calm down.
He said coldly, "This has nothing to do with Mia. It's all on me. Don't spread rumors or bother her again. Even though you're my daughter, I won't go easy on you if you push your luck."
Vicky was terrified.
She thought, 'Dalton really has it bad for Mia, taking all the blame himself.
If he'd been half as good to Hailey, they wouldn't have split.
If he was so into Mia, why'd he ditch her for Hailey in the first place?
If he wasn't, why's he still hung up on Mia after all these years, even divorcing Hailey to be with her?
Thinking it over, Vicky realized Dalton was just being paranoid. He always wanted what he couldn't have, and everything else was just temporary.
Once he got what he wanted, he'd go back for what he gave up. He called it love, but it was just his stubbornness.
But Vicky knew telling him this was pointless. He might even hit or scold her.
An obsessed mind is deaf to all else.
Vicky wiped her tears and said, "I get it. But Dad, as your daughter, I'm really worried about you. This will only bring you pain."
Dalton roared, "Get out!"
Vicky was startled and bolted!
