Chapter 71 Caught on Camera
After work, Amelia went to the hospital where Alexander was in.
As a nurse, she was very skilled in communication and managed to extract information about Alexander's ward using her perfect rhetoric.
After finding Alexander's ward, Amelia noticed that the door was slightly ajar, and she peeked through the crack.
Then, she saw a woman crying at Alexander's bedside. "Alex, I really can't bear to see you getting injured. Do you feel hurt anywhere?"
"I'm fine, Isabella. Don't cry," Alexander said softly.
Alexander raised his hand to wipe Isabella's tears. "I told you not to come. Your body is weak, you know?"
"It's okay. I just wanna be with you. I know you didn't tell your family because you don't wanna make them worry. But if I didn't come, you would really be alone. I don't wanna see that happen."
Isabella was very good at evoking a man's pity towards her.
She cried, "You spent the whole day with me yesterday. You must have been too tired. You had a car accident all because of me. It's all my fault. If you weren't taking care of me, none of this would happen."
"Don't blame yourself. You don't wanna get sick either. All right, don't cry. I won't be happy seeing you cry," Alexander said gently yet sternly.
"Okay, I won't cry." Isabella wiped her tears.
"Isabella, let me tell you something." Alexander changed the subject.
"What?"
"Ava signed the divorce agreement yesterday," he said.
"Really?" Isabella cried with joy this time. "She did? So, you..."
"But my dad tore that up."
"What?" Isabella's face stiffened. "Why?"
Alexander explained, "He found out about it when he came to see me, and he tore it up. He was very angry. Now my families are all trying to stop us. I'm worried they might harm you, so can you wait a little longer?"
"Alex, I've been waiting for too long." Isabella bit her lip hard and tried to hold back her tears, looking pitiful and innocent.
"I know. I'll get Ava to sign another one as soon as possible. But you know about my parents and grandma. I can't be too aggressive in front of them. Otherwise, they may come to hurt you. If that happens, I may not be able to protect you."
Alexander's eyes were full of worry. He swore in his heart that he would never let Isabella get hurt again.
Although Isabella was unwilling, she had no other choice but to nod obediently. "I understand. It's okay. I've been waiting for so long, and it's just a few more days now. I don't care."
Isabella leaned into his embrace, nestling against him. "Alex, you will marry me, right? One day I'll be your wife. Tell me you will."
Alexander didn't hug her, but he also didn't push her away. He just let Isabella lean against him.
After a moment of silence, he lifted his hand and gently patted the back of her head, replying, "Yes."
Meanwhile, Amelia was furious. She wanted to rush in and curse them harshly. But to avoid causing trouble for Ava, she forced herself to hold back and saved the recorded video.
"Can I help you?"
Suddenly, a man's voice came from behind her.
Amelia immediately turned around and saw a young and handsome man in a suit staring at her. It was Felix.
"Sorry, I found the wrong room."
After that, she hurriedly passed by Felix and quickly ran off.
"Felix, what's going on?" Alexander asked in the room.
