Chapter 556 Don't Want Me Anymore

"Yes, I'm crazy; I want you; I don't want anyone else."

Alex was at his wit's end, looking like he had nothing to lose. "Since you don't want me, then leave!"

"It's you who didn’t want me first!" Ava's eyes revealed a sense of grievance.

Alex said, "I've apologized; I know I was wrong, but you still won't come back to me. What can I do?"

"How can I forgive you for such a mistake? It's not like I can come back to you with just one apology."

"So, what you mean is we still can't be together; you don't want me anymore!"

He didn't care. He was determined to play the rogue.

Ava stood outside the door, her forehead lightly resting against it, sighing.

In the end, she couldn't just walk away. After all, she had known Alex for ten years. Even though their marriage had failed, how could she easily let go of the bond of those ten years? She was no automaton, bound to follow a set program and mechanically carry out commands.

Many times, her heart wasn't under control, and even her body wasn't something her brain could control.

"Alex, time can solve everything. Slowly, you will realize that none of this is a big deal."

Alex, feeling lost and helpless, smiled bitterly. "Yes, you have a lot of experience with that. Not long after, you've already moved on, living well now with another man."

"Is it not good that I've moved on?" Ava retorted, "Do you want me to suffer as I did before? Is that your love for me, to keep me from moving on, to keep me in pain instead of being with another man?"

"Yes, I am that selfish." Alex laughed and cried. "I can't control myself either. I don't want you to be with William."

"But I'm already with him. I'm married to him. What do you want me to do? I can't divorce him for you."

"Why not? Do you really love him? Ava, you might find it ridiculous, but it's abnormal for you to marry him. Maybe it's because you were too heartbroken, so you found comfort in him or for other reasons."

Ava sighed helplessly.

There were indeed other reasons, but she couldn't tell Alex those reasons. She could only force herself to say, "There are no other reasons; stop speculating. Can you listen to me? Open the door. I'll take you back first. This is still a hotel; it's chaotic outside. Let's talk privately when we get back; don't do it here."

"Are you afraid I'll embarrass you?" Alex looked upset, like a child.

"That's not what I mean, and even if it's embarrassing, it's embarrassing for you and Scarlett. She brought us here to maintain her image, and now you've caused such a scene, it will affect her reputation. We need to figure out how to explain it to her. Come out first, and let's discuss and find a solution together. I'll help you think it through."

Alex had drunk too much, and Ava was genuinely worried about what might happen if he locked himself in there. A drunk person lacks reason.

Inside, there was gradually no more sound, and Ava grew increasingly worried.

She knocked on the door with force. "Alex, if you don't open the door, I'll get someone to break it down. I beg you to open the door."

"Alex, please, can you open the door? Let me take you back. I'm not asking for anything else. Just open the door. I won't scold you."
