Chapter 1104 His Mother

"Uncle George! This isn't right. Even though you have money, you shouldn't spend so much on me. It feels like I'm taking advantage of you." "It's okay, I don't feel that way. You've spent time with me, so sit down." Eason placed his backpack on the chair next to him and sat down beside George.

When he saw George looking at him, his eyes were particularly complex, filled with various emotions.

"Uncle George, what's wrong? Did something happen?"

"No," George replied with an awkward smile. "I just think you're a good kid, and I really like you."

"Really? Uncle George, it's been a long time since anyone talked to me like this. Ever since my mom passed away, no one has been this kind to me."

George felt a pang in his heart and thought of Eason, feeling guilty again.

"Eason, tell me about your mom."

"Uncle George, you want to hear about my mom?"

"Yes, I want to know what kind of amazing woman could have such a wonderful child."

When Cheryl was mentioned, Eason's eyes dimmed. "My memories of my mom only go back to when I was ten. In my memory, she was very beautiful and strong. She worked hard to support me."

"So, your mother's financial situation wasn't very good?" George was a bit puzzled. He had left Cheryl a check before he left; she shouldn't have had to work so hard and overtime.

"My mom and I lived in a small town. She didn't have much money, and it was tough for her to support me. But she always made sure I was well-fed and clothed, never letting me suffer. I think she got very sick because she was too exhausted from taking care of me. If it weren't for me, maybe my mom wouldn't have died."

George's heart pounded.

How could this be? Did Cheryl not use the money he left?

And he had bought her a house; why was she living in a small town?

It seemed Cheryl must have refused his house and money.

"Eason, don't blame yourself. It's not your fault. It has nothing to do with you. You've done very well."

"If it's not my fault, then whose fault is it? Could it be my father's fault?"

Eason's eyes reddened. "Why did he abandon my mom?"

George's lips trembled slightly. "I remember you saying that your father seemed to have a family."

"Yes, he had a family. If he had a family, why did he mess around? Why did he find my mom? My mom was just an ordinary and fragile woman; she couldn't handle his torment. That man was really bad. He played with my mom and then abandoned her."

At this point, Eason clenched his fists and slammed them on the table. "I really want to know who he is. I want to ask him why he treated us this way."

George listened, terrified. "Maybe he didn't know your mother was pregnant. It seems your mother never went to find him, right?"

Eason's eyes turned cold. "Uncle George, are you saying it's my mom's fault for not finding him?"

"That's not what I mean," George quickly explained. "I just think there might be some misunderstanding. Maybe your father isn't a heartless person. If he knew about your existence, he surely wouldn't be irresponsible."

Eason gradually calmed down. "Uncle George, you mean my father might not know I exist, and my mom never told him?"

George nodded. "That's a possibility. Think about it carefully. You should know your mother well, right?"
