Chapter 340 She Was Afraid of Ava
Victoria was very happy. She was easily pleased, like a child. "William, did you hear?" she said. "You shouldn't scold me. Ava isn't mad at me. This is none of your business."
William frowned. Ava quickly interjected, "You guys shouldn't argue all the time, especially because of me. I'll feel guilty."
Seeing Ava's pitiful appearance, they both went silent. Ava finally felt relieved when she saw them stop fighting. She looked up and noticed the wound on William's forehead had been bandaged.
"Will, are there any other injuries?" she asked. When she arrived at the Bennett Villa today, William's forehead was already injured. She didn't know if his father had hurt him in any other way before this.
"Ava, don't worry," Victoria said. "My brother is very strong."
William wanted to scold Victoria, but when he saw Ava, he didn't say anything. He didn't want to make Ava unhappy.
"Victoria, stop teasing your brother," Ava suddenly said, sounding serious.
Victoria was taken aback. "What?" she asked.
"Although I don't want your brother to scold you, you shouldn't constantly tease him, especially in front of others."
Ava was fair, and naturally wouldn't completely side with Victoria.
"I didn't. Many people respect him," Victoria muttered quietly. She felt like a child being scolded by a parent. She was resentful but didn't dare to make a scene.
Ava shook her head helplessly and let out a sigh.
"Why are you sighing? I'll listen to you. I won't tease him anymore."
Victoria was afraid that Ava would be mad at her. She was afraid that her position in Ava's heart would continue to decline.
Seeing that Victoria actually listened to Ava, William felt somewhat satisfied.
He thought, 'She's afraid of no one, except father. But now, she's afraid of Ava.'
Glancing at the watch, Ava realized that it was already noon. Time flew by quickly.
"Well, Will, Victoria, now that things are resolved today, I'll go back," Ava said.
Ava uncovered the blanket that was covering her.
"Are you sure?" William stepped forward and asked, "Maybe you should rest a bit more?"
"I'll rest better at home. Besides, I'm healthy. I don't really like staying in the hospital."
Ava had an unsettled feeling staying in the hospital. She had been coming to the hospital frequently during this period.
"Alright then, I'll take you home," William and Victoria said at the same time.
"Well..."
Ava suddenly remembered that her car was still at the Bennett Villa. She had driven there today. However, she wasn't feeling well when she left. William took her directly to a car. It wasn't hers.
Standing behind Victoria, William pinched her discreetly.
Victoria jumped in pain.
Ava was startled. "What's wrong with you?"
Victoria glared at William with resentment, then smiled. "I'm fine. I suddenly remembered that I have an appointment with a friend, so I have to leave now. My brother will send you home."
If she stayed there any longer, William would be annoyed.
"How do you get there? You didn't drive," Ava said. "Why don’t you let your brother send you over?"
"I’m good." Victoria stepped back a few steps. "I'll take a taxi or have my friend pick me up. I'm in a hurry. See you, guys."
Victoria fled.
Ava didn't even have time to call her back.
