Chapter 911 His Conditions

Ava shot back, "You were having a nightmare last night, kept calling Christina."

Vincent's grip on the chopsticks got tighter, his knuckles turning white.

"Who's Christina?" Ava asked.

Ava didn't know if Christina was his girlfriend or what, but when he was yelling her name in his sleep, he looked like he was in serious pain.

That kind of pain made it seem like Christina wasn't around anymore.

Vincent's face stayed pretty blank, but his eyes flickered a bit as he said, "Next time I have a nightmare, just stay away. Don't worry about me."

"Okay," Ava replied.

She had just sat down but suddenly realized there was no next time.

Ava forced a smile, "Glad you're okay now. After lunch, I'm outta here. Don't worry, there won't be a next time."

He had saved her and got hurt pretty bad. She stayed up all night watching over him, scared something might happen.

Now that he was fine, she had no reason to stick around. Sunny was waiting for her to come back.

"I saved you, you owe me," he said, like he was hinting at something.

Ava frowned, thinking about the money they had talked about earlier.

Ava put down her chopsticks, "Name your price. If I can afford it, I'll transfer it to you."

A life was priceless. Since Vincent had saved her, she had to pay him back.

"Ten billion dollars," he said.

Ava's face froze, then she frowned, "Sorry, I don't have ten billion dollars. Can you be more reasonable?"

"Don't you think your life is worth ten billion dollars?" Vincent asked.

"Life is priceless, but I don't have ten billion dollars," Ava replied.

"Neither does your husband?" Vincent asked.

Seeing his casual look, Ava felt like he was either joking or messing with her.

"But his money isn't mine, it has nothing to do with me."

"You're a couple, how can it be unrelated? I saved his beloved wife."

"Vincent," Ava's voice got louder, "Can you name a reasonable price? I'll give you what I can, but I really can't give you ten billion dollars, sorry."

Vincent leaned back in his chair, "Alright, ten thousand dollars."

Ava suddenly laughed, "Can you be serious?"

"Is ten thousand dollars not serious?" Vincent looked at her innocently.

"Ten thousand dollars, so little, are you sure?" Ava asked.

Vincent's prices were all over the place, either ten billion or ten thousand. She felt like he was joking.

"Of course I'm sure, but there's an extra condition," Vincent added.

Vincent's eyes were deep and dark, like an abyss. Those eyes, like stars in the night sky, sparkled with a mysterious and sharp light.

"What extra condition?" Ava asked.

"You stay here with me for a week until I heal."

Ava's brows furrowed, "What did you say?"

"How about it? Ten thousand dollars and a week of your time, can you agree to that?" he asked.

Ava didn't know what to say for a moment, Vincent was definitely joking.

"I hope you're serious," Ava's gaze was intense. "You saved me and I'm really grateful. I took care of you last night because I wanted to. If you can't take care of yourself, I'm willing to help until you recover. But you're much better now. First, you asked for ten billion dollars, then ten thousand dollars, and wanted me to stay a week. I really doubt your motives, so I'm sorry, I can't agree to that."
