Chapter 1101 Still Friends

William is already here, and she can't just kick him out.

It's not that she doesn't want to see William, it's just that they divorced not long ago, and she doesn't know how to face him. There's still some awkwardness between them.

If they had never been married and were just pure friends, it wouldn't be like this.

But now Ava tries to face him with a purely friendly attitude, not thinking about the past.

After they went inside, they placed the vegetables, meat, and some fruits they bought on the table.

"You guys bought so much stuff, we can't finish it all."

"No worries," William said. "We can put it in the fridge, and you can eat it slowly."

Ava responded, "William, how have you been lately?"

"I'm doing well," William said with a smile. "Don't worry, I'm fine. We're still friends, right?"

Ava nodded, "Of course we are."

"That's good. Let's interact as friends. Don't feel pressured. It's my fault today; I should have told you before coming."

Ava said, "It's okay. You both are my friends. You can come anytime you want."

Sunny, who was in Ava's arms, suddenly moved, perhaps sensing William's presence and getting a bit excited.

William quickly stepped forward and said, "Can I hold Sunny?"

"Of course," Ava handed Sunny to William.

William gently rocked Sunny in his arms.

He held Sunny with such tenderness and skill.

Ava couldn't help but think of how William used to take care of Sunny.

People are complicated. Although she resented William, at least he genuinely cared for Sunny.

She couldn't see William as entirely good or entirely bad.

When people spend a lot of time together, there will always be some issues, more or less.

When she was with William, she found that he had many flaws, but she could tolerate them.

Because those flaws didn't overshadow his good qualities.

Until she found out what William did in Stellaria, she couldn't stand it and chose to divorce him.

But now the divorce is done, and it's all over. She doesn't hate him as much anymore.

"So cute," Vicky said, touching Sunny's little face. "Ava, it must be hard taking care of him alone. Do you want to hire a nanny?"

Ava smiled and said, "It's okay. I can manage on my own. Sunny is very well-behaved."

"Alright then, but if you ever need a nanny to help with Sunny, let me know. I know many trustworthy people with good backgrounds."

Finding a responsible and good nanny these days isn't easy, and most people wouldn't feel comfortable with just anyone.

"Okay, Vicky, I'll contact you if I need one."

"Vicky, weren't you going to cook? It's getting late, you should start," William urged.

"Alright, I'll start now. Just wait and see, I'm a great cook."

Vicky confidently took the groceries to the kitchen.

Ava walked over and said, "Let me help you."

"No need," Vicky said. "Leave it all to me."

"Yeah, Ava, let her do it. Don't worry about her. She's been eager to show off her cooking skills."

"That's not true," Vicky frowned. "William, it's not showing off, it's demonstrating. Just wait and see."

Vicky rolled up her sleeves, put on an apron, and started washing the vegetables.

William sat down on the couch with Sunny in his arms.

"Sunny, do you miss Daddy?" He suddenly glanced at Ava and then corrected himself, "Do you miss Uncle? I miss you a lot. Have you been listening to Mommy lately?"
