Chapter 644 True Colors Revealed

"No, you can't. If there's a traffic accident, it will be very serious. Your car will need to be impounded and won't be returned until it is confirmed that there is no problem."

The officer said this while taking out his phone out of his pocket. "I'll have my colleague come over now. Wait a moment."

He dialed a number and said, "Hello, we got a violator on Ravenbrook. Send a tow truck."

Ava glanced sideways at the officer, sensing something amiss. As she lifted her foot to step towards her car, the officer suddenly intercepted her, saying, "Planning to escape? Stay right here."

Ava noticed his gaze was very strange.

"If you're going to tow my car, I need to get my bag. My documents and money are in there."

"Fine, go get it."

"Okay." Ava calmly walked towards the car. After getting in the car, she glanced at the rearview mirror and then secretly took out her phone to call Brandon.

She felt that something was wrong with the officer, but she couldn't call the police rashly. If she was mistaken, it would be very inconvenient. Even if there was a real problem, the police might not arrive in time. Therefore, she opted to contact Brandon instead of calling the police directly, as Brandon's special status could expedite matters.

The man grew impatient and walked over directly, apparently irritated by Ava's delay in retrieving her bag.

When Ava saw the officer approaching her in the rearview mirror, she immediately locked the car door and rolled up the window.

He banged on the door forcefully. "Open the door! What are you up to? Trying to run away?"

Just then, Brandon answered the phone. "Ava, what's going on?"

"Uncle, I've got some trouble here."

"Bitch, open the car door!"

Hearing the man's cursing, Ava was sure he couldn't be a real traffic cop. She was about to drive away but found the car keys were missing.

As she turned her head, she she caught sight of the fake officer outside the window, holding a set of car keys and waving them lightly with a smug smile on his face.

"Ava, where are you now?" Brandon heard the commotion over the phone.

Ava immediately said, "I'm on Ravenbrook Road. A man disguised as a traffic officer has intercepted my vehicle and stolen my keys. I'm trapped in the car with him right outside. And he has called his accomplices. Can you track my location?"

The car window cracked with thunder, shattering into pieces and falling on Ava.

"Ah!" Ava screamed.

Then the car door was opened, and Ava was forcefully pulled out of the car. Her phone fell onto the car seat.

At that moment, a van drove up, and several people got out, grabbing Ava from the ground and pressing her against the van.

"Who are you? Who sent you?"

It was clear that everything they did was planned, down to the specifics of her route.

Fear gripped Ava, spreading through her entire being, yet she was cognizant. She understood that yelling and screaming would avail her naught.

Instead of crying and shouting, it was more important to figure out their intentions.

"Do you know Evelyn?" the man asked.

When she heard that name, Ava immediately understood. "Are you kidnapping me to make me pay off her debt?"

The man chuckled, "Her debt is only a million dollars, but getting you will fetch a price dozens of times higher."
