Chapter 832 Call Ava

"Really? Then call her now," Scarlett said, excited.

Mia frowned. "Alexander, are you calling Ava? She might be busy."

Mia looked so serious, like the world would end if he called Ava.

Alexander said nothing, let go of Scarlett, took out his phone, and walked to the villa entrance to avoid everyone.

Mia followed him. Alexander was scrolling through his contacts.

"Alexander, are you really calling Ava?" Mia asked.

Given the situation, calling Ava could ruin everything and bring back all the pain.

"Are you scared of me calling Ava?" Alexander asked.

"No, I just don't want you to get hurt," Mia said.

"I don't need your concern. I'm an adult, not a child needing protection."

Mia looked down, ashamed. "I'm just afraid you'll get tangled up again."

Anger surged in Alexander, but he kept dialing and put the phone to his ear.

Mia was nervous. She didn't know what he'd say to Ava.

She couldn't just grab the phone; that'd be too much.

If they cleared the air and got tangled again, things would get even messier.

When the call connected, Alexander said, "Ms. Allen."

Mia was confused but relieved when she heard how he addressed the person.

"Can you do me a favor?" Alexander asked.

After she agreed, he added, "My grandmother has Alzheimer's and wants to see Ava, but Ava isn't here. You look like her; could you come and pretend to be her?"

"Alright, I'll send a car. Where are you now?" Alexander said, then hung up.

"Who is Ms. Allen?" Mia asked, confused.

"A friend who looks like Ava. She can pretend to be her. Scarlett is confused; she might not even recognize the real Ava."

Mia sighed in relief, thinking he was really going to call Ava.

Seeing his mom's relief, Alexander frowned. "You're happy I didn't call Ava, aren't you? Do you really not want me to contact her?"

He couldn't understand why his mom was acting this way.

"Alexander, I just don't want you to suffer," Mia explained.

"Thanks for your concern," Alexander said, then walked back into the villa.

Mia sighed, feeling guilty.

Less than an hour later, the driver brought Madison over.

Alexander was waiting outside. When Madison got out, he said, "Thanks for coming, Ms. Allen."

"No problem," Madison smiled. "I'm happy to meet Scarlett. Where is she?"

Meeting Alexander's family made her feel closer to him.

"She's inside. I'll take you to her," Alexander replied.

As they walked, Alexander said, "When you see her, don't say too much. Just say a few sweet words to make her happy."

"Got it," Madison replied.

Alexander gave her a few more instructions as they walked into the living room.
