Chapter 886 The Whole Scene Wrapped Up

Alexander and William got hauled off to the local cop shop for brawling.

Once inside, they got split up for some grilling.

After a few hours of back-and-forth, the cops decided to cut them loose.

Since neither of them tried to dodge the blame or caused any serious damage, the cops let them off easy.

They got a stern talking-to, told to keep their noses clean, and had to sign some papers.

Once the dust settled, the cops called their Ava and Madison to get them.

No bail was needed, so Ava and Madison signed the papers and took them home.

Night rolled in.

The police station's door, like some heavy iron curtain, shut out the world's chaos.

A dim streetlight cast a cold, lonely glow, like a single star in the night sky.

The four of them met up again at the station's entrance.

Ava saw Madison clinging to Alexander's arm. She looked away and grabbed William's wrist, "William, let's bounce."

Ava looked pale, her voice raspy. After a day of drama, she was wiped out.

In the end, they all turned their backs on each other and walked off in different directions, ending the whole mess quietly.

The whole scene wrapped up in a pretty bleak way.

The street was dead quiet, with hardly any people around. Only the wind whistled down the empty road, sounding all lonely and sad.

Darkness spread like ink, swallowing everything, with just a few neon lights flickering in the distance, sketching out the city's shape.

Madison held onto Alexander's arm, strolling slowly down the street with him.

The car was parked nearby, but Alexander didn't seem in any rush to drive. She had no clue where he was headed.

Madison kept quiet too, just sticking by his side.

If she were alone on these foreign streets at night, she'd be freaked out, but with Alexander there, she felt safe.

She boldly rested her head on his shoulder.

Seeing that Alexander didn't push her away, she smiled, feeling pretty pleased.

They'd finally made some progress, thanks to Ava's cold shoulder; otherwise, she wouldn't have had this shot.

Madison's stomach growled. She'd skipped lunch and spent the whole afternoon worrying about Alexander, so she hadn't eaten a thing.

By the time they got back to their place, it was super late. Alexander stayed silent the whole way, not saying a word.

Madison was really worried. Alexander's silence was eerie, like he'd lost his soul.

When they got back, as soon as they hit the living room, Alexander collapsed onto the carpet. His tall frame seemed to just give out.

Even lying there, he was expressionless, his eyes empty, lost in some void of despair, like he didn't even notice his messed-up state.

Or maybe, he just didn't care anymore.

Those deep eyes were like a dark lake, rippling but lifeless, showing endless pain and helplessness, stuck in some deep sorrow he couldn't shake.

"Alexa..." Something clicked in her mind as she spoke again, "Mr. Mitchell, you okay? Should we hit the hospital?"
