Chapter 681 Should Understand
After hearing this, Brandon's frown deepened.
"So at the critical moment, Ava chose your safety."
"That's right."
Although Ava ensured his safety, and he was initially happy, now he was visibly upset.
Seeing William like this, Brandon asked, "Since Ava chose you, it means you are more important than Alexander to her. What's there to be unhappy about?"
William slammed his cup down on the table.
"Ava cried and insisted on finding Alexander. How can I be happy about that? Even though she chose me, seeing her like this, I'd rather be the one injured. That way, she'd be worried about me, and she'd be crying and making a fuss to find me instead."
Brandon frowned and said, "Don't be so childish. Your safety was the most important thing. You could have died there."
Hearing Brandon's words, William retorted, "Why would I die if I got hurt? Do you think Alexander is stronger than me? He can take a bullet and survive, but I can't?"
"I didn't mean it that way. Don't you care about your own life? Even if Ava is worried about him now, it's only natural. If it were you, she would be just as worried. She made that choice in such a situation, and it must have been painful for her. You should be glad she chose you. Even if she's worried about Alexander, you should understand, not express dissatisfaction."
"If it were anyone else, I could understand," William said angrily. "But not Alexander. I'm sick of Ava caring so much about him. What's so good about him? He's been hurting her all along, and now he's putting on a show of affection trying to win her back."
"I've done so much for her, I've been so good to her, but..."
Why did William suddenly stop talking?
Because he noticed Brandon's gaze fixed on him, scrutinizing him.
Feeling a bit guilty, William immediately changed his words, "I get it. I should try to understand her. I just care about her too much, so I spoke without thinking."
"Have you regained your memory?" Brandon seemed to have noticed something in William.
"I remember a few things, very few," William said.
"Really? Very few?"
"Do you think I'm lying to you?"
Brandon stood up and said, "William, let me give you some advice. You should take a break from Ava. You need to calm down."
"What did you say?" William frowned tightly. "You want me to stay away from her?"
"Temporarily," Brandon said. "She's emotional now, only thinking about Alexander. And when you see her thinking about Alexander, you'll get angry."
"I won't get angry at her."
"Really? Are you sure? Can you guarantee you'll control your temper 100%?"
Brandon didn't think so.
William said coldly, "I don't know."
"If you don't know, then you need to consider Ava's feelings fully. If you really care about her, leave her alone for now. You can have Vicky take care of her. Otherwise, I think you'll end up hurting her because you can't accept her concern for Alexander, and things will get out of hand."
After calming down, William also felt that Brandon made sense.
Brandon continued, "Alexander is still missing. We don't know if he's dead or alive. I know you hate him, but it's better if he's alive. Otherwise, Ava will never be at peace. If you truly care about her, then you need to put yourself in her shoes."
With that, Brandon turned and left.
