Chapter 1096 Familiar Faces
"Thank you, Uncle George. I am glad you found it. I was really careless."
Eason opened his wallet, checked the contents, and said, "Losing money is no big deal, but there's a photo of my mom in here. It's the only one I have, and I can't lose it."
Eason stared at the photo in his wallet, his eyes filled with sadness.
George asked, "Your mother, she..."
"My mother is no longer with us," Eason said sadly. "This is her last photo. She passed away when I was very young. Uncle George, don't you think my mom is beautiful?"
George took the wallet and saw a small photo in the compartment. The picture showed a young, beautiful woman with a radiant smile.
When George saw the woman's face, a flash of shock crossed his eyes, and his mind felt like it was about to explode.
How could it be her?
George felt as if his world was collapsing. He couldn't believe what he was seeing.
This woman looked so familiar.
He wasn't sure if he was mistaken, but she really looked familiar.
"What's wrong, Uncle George?"
Eason looked at him curiously. "Isn't my mom beautiful? Did she surprise you?"
George quickly snapped out of it, nodded, and said, "Yes, she's very beautiful."
He forced a smile and asked, "How did your mother pass away?"
Eason sighed softly, "My mom got very sick. She was so ill that she became skin and bones, couldn't eat or drink, and no treatment worked."
Eason lowered his head, his eyes glistening with tears. "I was only ten years old at the time."
George's mouth twitched slightly, and a sudden feeling of unease arose in his heart.
"Eason, what about your father?"
When he asked this, his voice trembled slightly, but he tried to maintain a normal tone.
At this, Eason's expression turned a bit angry. "I don't know who my father is. He was never around my mom."
"You don't know?" George's heart sank. "Did your mom never tell you anything about your father?"
"I asked my mom, but she never wanted to talk about it. She only told me that my father had his reasons for not being with us."
"Is that all?" George pressed, "Did your mom ever tell you what your father did or any other information?"
Eason thought for a moment and said, "No, but once I overheard my mom on the phone, and I found out why she never told me who my father was or why he wasn't with us."
"Why?" George asked urgently.
Eason gritted his teeth and said, "It turns out my father had a family. He had a wife and kids. He was having an affair with my mom."
George's heart pounded, and a fine layer of sweat appeared on his forehead.
A hint of panic seemed to flash in his eyes.
Eason was nineteen years old.
He remembered that he did have an affair twenty years ago.
After he married Mia, he was never satisfied with the marriage and secretly continued seeing his first love.
But besides Mia and his first love, there was another woman.
Twenty years ago, he met a woman.
At that time, he was drinking. He fought with his first love and went out to get drunk.
His beloved woman kept asking him when he would get a divorce.
He couldn't get a divorce because Scarlett was in the way, so he couldn't give his first love an answer, and they had another fight. He was in a bad mood.
