Chapter 492 Can't Forget

Brandon said, "I have already instructed the relevant authorities to intensify the investigation. However, there is little progress. Many roadside surveillance footages have been lost, and we are even clueless about William's whereabouts."

Vicky was shocked. "So, you mean the surveillance footage was deliberately tampered with. Who could have the ability to do this?"

Brandon nodded. "Indeed, this individual must possess substantial power to eliminate all evidence."

"Could it be Ava's ex-husband?" Vicky said, "Her ex-husband has continually harassed Ava and frequently clashed with William. Could he be intentionally trying to harm him? If Alexander set his mind to this, he could certainly accomplish it, given his evident power."

Brandon furrowed his brow slightly and thoughtfully said, "He has a lover who is seriously ill and needs a heart transplant. Coincidentally, William had an accident, and his heart was a perfect match. However, the surgery could not proceed smoothly, and soon there was another person whose heart was a match."

"Exactly," Vicky said, "Alexander is a suspect. On one hand, he wanted to get rid of William, and William's heart happened to match his lover's. On the other hand, when the surgery could not proceed smoothly, another victim appeared."

It seemed everything was related to Alexander. Moreover, he could make it. An ordinary perpetrator wouldn't have such prowess.

Brandon said, "While what we are speculating may be true. However, without evidence, we cannot directly convict him."

"Then we need to find evidence. If he did it, he would definitely leave some clues behind. We couldn't let the killer go free."

Brandon pondered for a moment and said, "Though this matter is intricate, I shall not relent in the people who harmed William."

William had a dream where someone seemed to be harming Ava.

But the image was blurry, and he couldn't see the person's face clearly. The voice was distorted and sharp, like a needle piercing his eardrums.

"Ava, Ava."

William kept calling her name in his dreams.

Ava was napping on the couch when she heard William calling her name. She opened her eyes, noticed his distress, and quickly got up from the sofa to his bedside.

"William, wake up." Ava firmly held William's hand.

William suddenly opened his eyes. Seeing her, he tried to get up from the bed.

"Don't move, William." Ava held him down, "What's wrong? Did you have a nightmare? Don't be afraid. It's just a dream. Look at me. I'm fine now."

William breathed a sigh of relief. "Ava, I dreamt that someone harmed you, yet I couldn't recall anything else."

Ava hurriedly said, "Aren't I fine now? Don't worry. Dreams are not real."

"I must have forgotten something important. I need to remember, or else you will be in danger."

Observing the worried expression on William's face, Ava inquired, "William, do you remember how you got injured?"
"I..." William closed his eyes, making a concerted effort to recollect, yet nothing came to mind. He shook his head. "No, I couldn't remember."

Seeing William struggling hard to remember, which caused him pain, Ava hurriedly intervened, "If you can't recall, don't force it for now. It's alright. Rest well, and you can recollect slowly later. There's no rush."

"No, I'm very anxious," William said uneasily, "I need to remember quickly who intended harm on you. It is very important. I can't forget it. I must remember."
