Chapter 1002

"That makes sense," Anna said sincerely, giving a thumbs up. "I have a friend's brother who seems to be studying this field. I've heard he's quite good. I'll get in touch with him."

Fiona smiled and nodded.

Meanwhile, Stella hung up; the anger in her heart still hadn't subsided.

She picked up a twig and brushed away the dust on the ground, and tears welled up in her eyes.

Only then did she calm down.

Then, she made a call to Alexander.

Alexander quickly answered, "What's wrong?"

"Alexander, does your hospital treat dissociative identity disorder?" she asked dejectedly.

"I knew you wouldn't let this go," Alexander said with a hint of helplessness, "I've already asked the elders at home. Without seeing the patient, they can't be sure."

"So, is there hope?" Stella's eyes lit up. "Fiona also said she would look for Hubert!"

"Are you in the room?" Alexander asked gently.

"No, I'm outside," Stella said, brushing the ground again.

Alexander chuckled softly, "Come out."

Stella stood up and turned around, seeing Alexander standing at the half-open door.

She didn't know why, but the emotions that had just subsided surged up again.

She pouted and walked over slowly, asking, "How long have you been standing there quietly?"

"Not long, I just got to the door." Alexander reached out and took the twig from her hand. "Take a walk with me."

Stella stepped over the threshold.

After thinking for a moment, she said, "I want a hug."

Alexander looked at her, said nothing, and just opened his arms, pulling her into his embrace.

He gently rubbed her head. "So compassionate."

Compassionate people not only found more joy but also experienced more sorrow.

Stella said nothing.

She wasn't always like this.

Patricia was too pitiful. To be deceived by that man, she must have loved him deeply back then.

In the end, her true feelings were misplaced, leading to such a downfall.

Meanwhile, on Liam's side.

Alexander had just left from there.

With his injections and life-prolonging medicine, Father Ben looked a bit more spirited today.

He was lying on a deck chair in the yard, watching Jessie on the summer night.

"Even a brief encounter can make Stella so worried. She is a kind-hearted person." Father Ben learned from Alexander that Stella was very concerned about Patricia during the day.

Liam was sitting there, shelling green beans sent from the kitchen.

After a moment of silence, he said sullenly, "She's a good person; she just lacks discipline."

"How many people in the world learn so many rules?" Father Ben shook his head slowly with his eyes closed. "Having a pure and kind nature is good enough."

Liam continued shelling the green beans.

Father Ben sensed something was off with him.

He half-opened his eyes and looked at him, asking, "What's wrong? Why are you so heavy-hearted?"

Liam paused his shelling.

Taking a deep breath, as if making a big decision, he said, "Father Ben, I think Mason shouldn't stay in the church anymore."

"Do you want to send him to school?" Father Ben didn't quite understand at first.

Liam sighed and looked at him. "No, I mean, Mason should leave the church!"

Hearing the word 'leave,' Father Ben's brow twitched twice.

"Where do you want to send him?" he asked.

"Tomorrow, I'll go find Mason. If he's willing, let that couple adopt him," Liam said, continuing to shell the green beans.
