Chapter 1226
Ashton nodded. "Scarlet told me Adien's a genius, even smarter than Kenny!"
"He's got the same illness," Fiona said calmly.
Ashton was taken aback.
But what Fiona said next really floored her.
"His other personality killed his fiancée," Fiona sighed. "Her organs were all removed."
"Where did you hear that? That's terrifying!" Ashton whispered, covering her mouth like she was afraid someone might overhear.
"Mr. Graham's dad is Adien's doctor," Fiona replied.
Ashton was even more shocked.
"Mental illnesses are hard to understand," Fiona gently patted Ashton's hand. "So don't try to figure it out; it's pointless."
Ashton felt a pang of sadness for Fiona.
Fiona patted her head, saying, "At least one of us found happiness. Kenny's great, even better than I thought. You have to cherish him."
"Of course! I will!" Ashton replied.
Not only was Kenny great, but his family was also wonderful. They all loved and respected Ashton.
They didn't judge her because of her complicated family background.
Before coming back, Scarlet reminded Ashton to make sure to take Melissa to see her parents.
There had been a lot of guests lately. Some people, intentionally or not, brought up Ashton's sore spots in front of Scarlet.
Before Ashton could react, Scarlet scolded those people and kicked them out of the Walker Family.
After lunch, the four of them went to a nearby cinema to watch the latest comedy.
When it ended, Chicago and Charles had just finished school.
They hadn't seen Fiona and Darwin for two days.
Chicago was the first to come out of the school gate and ran towards Fiona and Darwin. "Dad, Mom, you really came back! I knew you wouldn't break your promise and would come back to camp with us!"
"Of course!" Fiona smiled and patted Chicago's head.
"Mom, did you not sleep well these past two days? Why do you have dark circles?" Chicago asked, concerned.
"I missed you so much I couldn't sleep, so I got dark circles," Fiona said gently.
Hearing this, Chicago was even happier.
She said, "It's okay, Mom. Ashton bought me a new Polaroid camera. Charles and I took a lot of photos. Next time you and Dad go on a business trip, put our photos in your wallet. When you miss us, just look at them, and you won't lose sleep!"
Then, she added, "Don't worry about the dark circles. When we get home, I'll make a face mask for you with an egg!"
Although she didn't know if it would work, that was what they did on TV!
When Stuart and others got into fights, whoever got hit in the eye always used an egg on it!
Fiona said, "Alright, then I'll have to trouble you, sweetie!"
"Don't be so clingy; Charles is still waiting," Ashton urged, "Some kids only have eyes for their parents and completely ignore me."
Seeing this, Chicago immediately jumped over and hugged Ashton. "How could I ignore you? Godmother, you look so beautiful today!"
"Even more beautiful than your mom?" Ashton asked.
Chicago replied, "Not really."
Ashton immediately laughed.
"Where's Melissa?" Chicago looked into the car.
"Melissa is full and sleeping at home. You'll see her when we get back," Ashton replied, "Let's go pick up Charles! Don't keep my son-in-law waiting too long!"
"Ashton." Fiona dragged out her words.
"My bad, we'll talk about it in twenty years," Ashton said with a smile.
