Chapter 741 She Has a Special Way of Identifying

This night, Fiona slept soundly but not well. Over the past hundred days since Darwin's disappearance, she had occasionally dreamt of that day at Robert's seaside house. Each time, she tried to catch the falling Darwin, but she always failed, only to watch him being swallowed by the waves.

Tonight, she found herself back there again, with Robert's sinister smile, the crashing waves, and her beloved in a life-threatening moment. Finally, she managed to grab Darwin's hand. Fiona woke up to a bright sunlight, still tightly holding a hand. She sat up, and Darwin, who was looking at her, smiled as she did. Fiona's breath quickened, and then she leaned in and kissed him. Darwin was momentarily stunned, but then he gently responded, his arms around her. Perhaps it was the sound of someone outside that interrupted them. Soon, a gentle knock came at the door.

"Fiona, are you awake?"

Fiona's movements slowed, and she tenderly kissed Darwin twice more. Darwin looked at her with red eyes. Fiona felt sorry for him and kissed his eyes. Darwin obediently lowered his gaze to let her.

"I have something to attend to outside. Wait for me," Fiona said softly, caressing his cheek.

"Okay," Darwin nodded gently.

Fiona kissed him once more before getting out of bed, tidied her clothes, and left the ward.

"Honey!" Thalassa saw Fiona coming out and immediately went up to her. "What happened to your eyes?" she asked, looking at Christopher.

"What's going on? You let her take the blame for the fight?"

"It wasn't her fault. Let me explain." Fiona held Thalassa's hand and led her aside. "I told you, being impatient is not good for prenatal education. I warned you, but you didn't listen. If you have a hyperactive child, I wonder how you'll cope!"

"I'm worried about you," Thalassa muttered.

Fiona then told Thalassa how she got injured.

Thalassa frowned. "You can't find the person who hurt you. That's so frustrating!"

"It's not a big deal. I'll probably be able to take off the eye patch in a day or two," Fiona reassured Thalassa.

"You promised me yesterday that you wouldn't come. You'd wait for me to bring Darwin back, remember? Janna must be worried sick."

"I'll check on your situation here and go back immediately!" Thalassa held Fiona's hand.

"Are you really sure it's Darwin? I think a DNA test would be more reliable, don't you?"

"I'm sure it's him," Fiona said with great certainty.

"How can you be so sure? What if..."

"I just kissed him for a few minutes. His techniques, habits, and little gestures all match," Fiona replied meaningfully.

Thalassa's eyes widened. "Techniques?"

Fiona nodded.

"Habits?"

Fiona nodded again.

"Little gestures?"

Fiona looked at Thalassa, teasing her, "Doesn't Kenny have them?"

"Yes!" Thalassa blurted out.

After speaking, Thalassa's cheeks slowly turned red. Fiona finally showed a faint smile. "Don't worry about me, I'm fine now!"

"I'm just glad it's Darwin!" Thalassa suddenly choked up, pouting, and it looked like she was about to cry.

"There's something I haven't told you..."

"What is it?" Fiona frowned.

"I found out last month that Chicago cries and sends messages to her dad on Facebook every night. At first, Chicago was still speaking properly, but recently, she just cries and asks her dad to come back..."

Fiona's brow furrowed. "It's okay, her dad will be back soon! My daughter won't be so sad anymore!"

"You're right."

Fiona opened her arms and gently hugged Thalassa, "Thanks to all of you, you've given Chicago and Charles a lot of love and care."

"We're a family, we don't say these things!"

The two of them bickered for a while. Fiona and Thalassa walked back hand in hand.

"Fiona, can I go in and take a look?" Kenny asked Fiona.

"Of course, you guys wait here." Fiona then entered the ward first. Darwin was staring out the window, lost in thought.

When Fiona came in, he immediately snapped out of it. "So soon?"

"Some people from home came overnight." Fiona sat down beside him. "They wanted to see you."

Darwin visibly became a bit flustered, but he still nodded. A moment later, Kenny and Thalassa came in. Thalassa's eyes welled up with tears when she saw Darwin.

"Wait a moment, I'll be right back." As she spoke, she let go of Kenny's hand and went out, pushing the door open.

"What's wrong with you?" Burl saw Thalassa come out and asked.

Thalassa covered her face with both hands and burst into tears, "He looks so pitiful!"

Burl sighed, "Who wouldn't say that? You know I don't like him and Kenny. I felt sorry for him yesterday. But the doctor said, take good care of him, and he'll recover!"

"What about Darwin's family?" Thalassa asked.

"One of them fell into the sea yesterday. They just rescued that person, and she's still lying unconscious in the hospital. The other two are with Mike, waiting for Fiona's decision."

"Fell into the sea?" Thalassa didn't know about Darwin's rescue.

Christopher knew that Fiona wouldn't hide these things from Thalassa, so he honestly said, "Her name is Aura. She's the one who kept Mr. Solomon Jr with her and lied to him that he was her fiancé. Yesterday, she probably thought she had no chance to escape with Mr. Solomon Jr, so she decided to die with him."

"And then she fell into the sea?" Thalassa asked.

"That's right."

"Why did you rescue her? Why not let her die in the sea?" Thalassa said angrily.

"Oh my!" Burl exclaimed, then bent down and said to Thalassa's belly, "Babe, cover your ears, Mom is talking nonsense, Mom is one of the kindest people in the world, she's just angry and saying these things! Don't be afraid!"

Christopher and Thalassa were dumbfounded. Thalassa's cry was heard from the ward. Fiona looked at Darwin and said, "Thalassa is my best friend, she's like a sister to me, and this is her husband, Kenny. Our families used to have some connections, and Kenny has always called you his brother."

"Darwin," Kenny called out.

Darwin responded with a nod. Thalassa, now composed, also entered the room.

"Darwin, everything will be fine. The medical teams from both our families are among the best in the world. They will definitely be able to cure you!"

Darwin nodded again. He never let go of Fiona's hand and relied on her a lot. Kenny and Thalassa, seeing this, didn't disturb Darwin too much. They didn't stay long and soon left the ward.
