Chapter 1070

Fiona noticed that Chicago was in a bad mood.

Before going to bed, she went to her bedroom.

She found Chicago hugging a pillow and crying.

"What's wrong?" Fiona gently approached.

Chicago looked up at her, then got up and snuggled into her arms.

Fiona held her, gently patting her back. "Are you missing Ethan?"

"Yes!" Chicago nodded, choking up.

"Sweetie, Ethan is doing well, right?" Fiona gently wiped her tears and asked softly.

"Very well!" Chicago confirmed.

"I also think Ethan is really great," Fiona said softly, "So, I think he choosing to attend a top international school is the right decision."

"I know." Chicago nodded while crying. "But I just won't be able to see him often."

"How about this? Whenever you want to see Ethan, I'll take you to see him during the holidays!" Fiona suggested.

"Really?"

"Of course, it's just a few hours by plane." Fiona patted her back. "Don't be sad, okay?"

Chicago sobbed a couple of times and honestly replied, "It might take a few more days to not be sad, Ethan is a very good friend of mine."

"I know." Fiona gently touched Chicago's cheek.

Chicago then leaned on Fiona's shoulder and cried for a long time.

She fell asleep with tears after crying herself out.

Fiona kissed her forehead, turned off the room's light, and closed the door as she left.

Darwin was sitting in the small living room on the second floor waiting.

"Was she crying?" he asked.

Fiona looked at the wet spot on her shirt's shoulder and nodded helplessly. "She was very sad."

"It's okay, kids have short memories, she'll be fine soon." Darwin held Fiona's hand. "Are you tired?"

Fiona shook her head. "Do you want to go for a walk?"

"Yes."

There were always so many people at home during the day.

Only at times like this could he be completely alone with Fiona.

At night, everything around was silent.

Fiona and Darwin held hands, walking slowly on the path.

"After this busy half-month, when Charles and Chicago are on vacation, let's go to Serene City?" Fiona looked at Darwin. "It's time to visit Mom and Grandparents."

All these years, Fiona hadn't formally taken Darwin to meet them.

Now that she thought about it, it was time.

"Okay." Darwin agreed immediately, his subconscious telling him that this should be a very important thing for him.

"I'll arrange the time properly." Fiona held his arm. "By the way, I recently met a new psychologist, he is very skilled. I'll meet him in the next couple of days, and if his schedule allows, I'd like to take you to see him."

"A psychologist? Don't I already have a regular psychologist?" Darwin was puzzled.

"I'm still worried that the trauma from the shipwreck might leave a shadow. Consulting a few more experts will make me feel more at ease." Fiona looked at Darwin, reaching out to touch his cheek. "If there's any problem, we can detect it early and solve it early, right?"

Since Darwin came back, he hadn't resisted anything Fiona arranged. Except for that.

"We'll discuss it later." He lowered his eyes, not agreeing.

Fiona could sense his resistance, so she didn't persuade him further.

She thought, after talking with him, she would see how things go.

"That's fine!" Fiona's tone was light as if what she just said was casual.

In the perspective that Fiona didn't notice, Darwin's hand holding the cane was trembling uncontrollably.
