Chapter 1318

Jessie was pretty much the queen bee at Emerald Pool.

Milo, the cat Chicago saved from a park near their old place, had really bulked up over the past year.

She was a little troublemaker.

As she got older, she didn't want to stay cooped up in the cat room anymore.

Whenever no one was looking, she'd dart out and race across the grass.

When she got tired, she'd head back to the cat room to chill.

Seeing this, Fiona decided to stop spoiling her.

Now, Milo was the queen of Emerald Pool, and Stuart mentioned that the number of field mice in the garden had dropped big time.

Milo's fur had gotten thicker, and she perched on a tree, watching Jessie and Stuart play.

Then she yawned, stretched out lazily, looking super content.

Time flew by; everything in the yard, including Milo and Jessie, the flowers, and the plants, was changing.

Fiona looked up. She slowly organized everything and handed it over to Hubert.

She asked Hubert to think about showing it to Darwin.

Fiona sent Mike to Cyberia, having him lead a team to stay at Hubert's hospital.

After Darwin's physical therapy, he was in pretty rough shape.

Fiona looked really content.

"Fiona, I'm talking to you. What's on your mind?" Janna asked.

Fiona snapped out of it and looked at Janna.

Janna's eyes were full of concern.

"Just thinking about the project," Fiona said, rubbing the back of Janna's hand. "The Solomon Group's been dealing with a lot of stuff lately."

"Just keep things steady until Darwin gets back. The Solomon Group's already doing great. Even at this pace, it makes a ton of money every year," Janna said, feeling bad for Fiona. "Why do you push yourself so hard?"

"Darwin has big plans for the Solomon Group. I don't want to just be a figurehead; I want the Solomon Group to keep moving forward," Fiona said sincerely, "Even though I wasn't part of the founding team, I was there during its rapid growth. Darwin's done a lot for the Solomon Group, and so have I."

Janna shook her head. "You always work so hard, just like me!"

Fiona felt a pang of guilt.

Janna should've retired a long time ago.

"Grandma, I'm sorry," Fiona said softly.

"Rena Hilton is a capable person." Janna suddenly changed the subject. "I want to promote her to Executive Vice President in two years."

Rena, who Fiona had placed in the sales department of the Rhoads Group, had been killing it.

Her team seemed unstoppable.

The best part was that Rena was also a good person, never getting cocky because of her success, and she kept great communication with all the departments at the Rhoads Group.

Rena had also been upfront with Fiona. "I didn't join the Rhoads Group to stay in sales forever. I know you'll eventually become the head of the Rhoads Group, and I want to be your right-hand person."

She had earned Janna's approval.

The Executive Vice President of the Rhoads Group had authority second only to the President and could oversee the entire group.

"Grandma, it's up to you," Fiona said gently.
