Chapter 523 A Night Inquiry with Lord Bao

"Is she eating?" Fiona texted Kenny from her room.

Kenny replied, "Yes."

Fiona breathed a sigh of relief.

Darwin had just finished putting Charles and Chicago to bed, and finally had time alone with his wife.

Fresh from the shower, he barged into the room ready for some affection.

Instead, he found Fiona standing up. "That scumbag Justin can't just get away with this!"

Helplessly flopping onto the bed, Darwin agreed, "He can't get off that easily!"

He already felt sidelined by his wife, and now this Justin guy was taking even more of her attention.

"I'll have someone chop him up tomorrow," Darwin said fiercely.

"No!" Fiona immediately gave him a warning look. "He has to die after his deeds are exposed to the public!"

"So, what's your plan, babe?" Darwin softened.

Fiona beckoned him with her finger.

Darwin moved closer.

"Do you know about Judge Bao's night inquiry with Guo Huai?" Fiona asked, pinching Darwin's chin.

Darwin had no clue.

"I need to find a way to make Justin face the three women he's wronged," Fiona said, dropping her eyes and letting go of Darwin's chin.

Turning thoughts into action, she had to get it done fast.

Darwin collapsed back on the bed, thinking, ‘When will this all end?’

Fiona went straight to Burl.

"I need you to dig up anything related to these two people," Fiona said, handing over the names of Justin's ex-girlfriend and ex-wife, along with some background information.

These two weren't from a time when the internet was pervasive.

Burl could find only a few scraps.
However, there was some luck with his ex-wife, Anne.

"Hey Fiona, check this out." Burl pointed out a post he found to Fiona. "This person was ranting online a couple of years ago, claiming that Anne was killed by Justin."

Fiona quickly read through the post.

The post had almost no traction.

"Can we find this person?" Fiona asked.

"That's not the question you should be asking." Burl frowned slightly, then snorted, "You should be asking how many minutes it will take me to find him."

Fiona laughed and patted his head. "Stop bragging and start searching!"

Three minutes later, Burl brought up the profile of the original poster before Fiona.

"Ronald Wilkinson, male, thirty years old, andcurrently unemployed?" Fiona noted that this Ronald Wilkinson, a graduate of Durren University, came from a pretty reputable institution.

"Send me his number." Fiona instructed.

"Call him now?" Burl glanced at the time. "It's past ten, isn't it a bit late?"

"For someone desperate for justice, they won't mind a call in the middle of the night."

Burl sent Fiona the number.

However, he was still puzzled. "Ronaldisn't related to Anne by blood, right? And the age gap is quite significant, he couldn't be Anne's secret child, could he?"

"He's about the same age as Justin's little son; who could have two kids back-to-back without the husband or his family finding out?" Fiona tapped Burl's head lightly.

Burl, rubbing his head, complained, "I don't know much about the Shaw family losers."

Fiona patted his head again.

She dialed the number.

There was silence on the other end for a few seconds. Fiona was worried; it had been four years, she wouldn’t know if the person was still alive.

Perhaps, Justin could have silenced him.

Just as she was pondering, the call was answered.

"Who's this?"

"Ronald Wilkinson?" Fiona spoke up.

There was a pause on the other end. "Speaking, are you looking for a tutor?"
"Yes, can we meet for a chat tomorrow morning at eight?" Fiona asked.

There was the sound of rustling paper, as if he was checking a schedule ."I have a class at eight in the morning, that works. Where would you like to meet?"

Fiona named a coffee shop that was convenient and bustling.

"Okay, I don't live far from there, let's meet then."

She hung up the phone.

Fiona couldn't shake a strange feeling.

"Fiona, there's just no info on this person." Burl pointed to the name Selena Alba, looking dejected.

“It's alright, I'll figure something out.

“Let's have Carey check her old school for any records with a photo, and see if she might know anyone who was close to her back then.”

It's going to be a bit of a challenge.

After all, nearly forty years have passed.

"Fiona, what on earth are you trying to do?" Burl asked, puzzled.

Fiona remained indifferent.

"It's nothing much. Just thought that after all these years, I'd let Justin meet some folks from his past."

The next morning, Fiona headed to the coffee shop at eight in the morning on the dot.

A tall, but very thin man carrying a briefcase came in from outside.

Fiona had already seen his picture.

She lifted her hand to gesture to him.

Ronald approached with a warm smile. As he sat down, he looked at Fiona with a hint of confusion. "You look... somewhat familiar?"

"You might have seen me on the news," Fiona said straightforwardly, extending her hand. "Mr. Ronald, hello. My name is Fiona."

Ronald’s eyes widened in shock.

"Ms. Fiona, you may not know, but I teach high school mathematics," Ronald said awkwardly.

Fiona pulled out a piece of paper.

"You graduated from Durren University with excellent grades, could have stayed for a PhD or gone to a better school. Why come back home? And then with a pretty serious criminal record to boot." She showed him the paper, which stated Ronald was suspected of assault and had spent eight months behind bars.

Before this incident, he had posted that online message.

"Ms. Fiona, what do you want from me?" Ronald’s guard was up instantly.

"I came looking for you because of this," Fiona said, showing him the post.

Ronald’s pupils shrank upon reading.

"What are you after?" he said in a hushed tone.

"Maria's dead," Fiona stated, sure that Ronald knew Maria.

He stiffened at the news.

Then, he let out a mocking laugh "Did she kill herself?"

"The case is still under investigation, but someone is indeed trying to make it look like a suicide," Fiona fixed her gaze on Ronald. "Just like with Anne's death, back in the day."

Ronald’s eyes fluttered with a sudden intensity.

"I'll cut to the chase. I'm a friend of Maria's daughter. I can't stand the idea of Justin getting away with killing two people."

"You're not one of Justin's crew?" Ronald was in utter shock.

Fiona shook her head. "Can you tell me how much you know about Maria's death?"

Ronald frowned, his eyelids drooping. "Honestly, I didn't even know her, never even met her."

Fiona was taken aback. "Then, why did you make that post?"
