Chapter 1201

Fiona later recalled this day, filled with intense self-blame.

She knew Darwin was in trouble but totally spaced on telling Christopher to keep an eye on him before she went off to find Hubert.

The old park had some streetlights flickering on and off.

Fiona sprinted, sometimes in the light, sometimes in the dark.

The tree still stood silently by the fake lake.

The old security guard, holding a flashlight, anxiously pointed it at the lake and yelled, "He went under!"

Coincidentally or not, it was the same spot where Darwin had fallen into the water before.

Fiona didn't hesitate. Just like last time, she dove into the dark lake.

Before hitting the water, she vaguely heard Burl shout, "Fiona!"

But Fiona couldn't think about anything else. She was only worried Darwin might die.

With the flashlight's help, she quickly saw Darwin slowly sinking.

She felt a metallic taste in her throat but swam towards him as fast as she could, ignoring everything.

Over the years, from the first time she met Darwin to the ups and downs of their relationship, scenes kept flashing before Fiona's eyes.

Finally, she reached Darwin, grabbed his hand, and pushed him towards the surface.

At that moment, she heard several splashes.

After childbirth and a serious illness, Fiona's body was much weaker. As she neared the surface, she felt exhausted.

Hearing the splashes, she knew it must be Christopher and Burl coming down.

Just as she was about to sigh in relief, Darwin, with his eyes tightly closed, suddenly moved. Before Fiona could react, his arm wrapped around hers.

They were about to break the surface, sank again because of Darwin's action.

Fiona instinctively struggled.

Darwin's arm around Fiona's neck tightened more and more.

Fiona looked back.

The person behind her had the same features but looked completely unfamiliar.

His expression was fierce, and when his eyes met hers, they were filled with murderous intent and resentment.

He wasn't Darwin!

Burl, Christopher, and Mike dove into the water and saw this scene.

Burl and Mike even shouted underwater.

"Fiona!"

"Chelsea!"

Christopher was much calmer than the other two, swimming with all his might like a torpedo, straight towards Fiona.

Mike followed closely behind.

The frail Burl followed as well.

Christopher swam over and kicked Darwin in the side without hesitation.

Then he grabbed Darwin's hand and yanked it back and forth, dislocating the arm that was choking Fiona.

Seeing this, Mike immediately pulled the nearly unconscious Fiona to his side, ignoring Darwin, and swam back to the shore.

Burl, seeing that Fiona was saved, followed Mike while crying and carefully helped bring Fiona to shore.

Once ashore, Mike quickly performed CPR on Fiona.

Fortunately, they acted in time.

Fiona hadn't swallowed too much. After a few coughs, she forcefully expelled some water and regained consciousness.

"Are you okay?" Burl asked, crying so hard he almost fainted.

Then, he saw the bruises on Fiona's neck.

Burl turned back, looking angrily.
