Chapter 78 Don't Get it Twisted

Bella heard the noise and whipped her head around.

It was Hathaway.

And she wasn't alone—there were a few middle-aged suits with her.

Fiona recognized one of the guys.

He was a big shot at an investment bank tied to the Ross family.

"Ms. Ross!" Bella stumbled and dashed over.

Hathaway's bodyguard stepped up. "What do you want!"

"Ms. Ross, it's me!" Bella forced a cringe-worthy smile.

"Ms. Robbins?" Hathaway's perfect face showed surprise. "What happened to you?"

"It's all her fault!" Bella spun around, pointing at Fiona, screaming so loud her voice cracked.

Fiona just stood there, ice-cold.

"Ms. Woods," Hathaway greeted her, still all gentle and kind, like last night's parking lot drama never happened.

Fiona gave a cold nod and turned to leave.

Bella, like a crazy person, ran over and grabbed Fiona. "Don't go!"

Bella probably spent the whole night at a club, still rocking red heels and nails blinged out with rhinestones.

Fiona, caught off guard, got grabbed by the arm.

Good thing it was winter and her coat was thick, or she'd be bleeding from the scratch.

After grabbing Fiona, Bella spun back to Hathaway, "Ms. Ross, it's this woman, she seduced Mr. Solomon, making him totally obsessed! You can't let her near Mr. Solomon, she'll wreck your marriage!"

A loud slap echoed in the garage.

Bella, in pain, let go and clutched her face, falling to the ground in a mess.

Fiona frowned, shaking her hand in disgust from the slap.

"Bella, you know why Mr. Solomon kicked you out of Atlas Group," she said, annoyed, "Stop acting crazy and talking nonsense."

"You... you dare hit me?"

Bella clutched her cheek, eyes wide with shock and anger.

Fiona checked the time; what was once plenty was now running late.

She couldn't be bothered with Bella.

Ignoring the shocked crowd, she turned and walked to the elevator.

The patrolling security noticed the chaos and rushed over.

By now, Bella had gotten up.

She, like a lunatic, cursed and tried to pounce on Fiona. "You shameless bitch, you dare hit me! I'll kill you!!"

The security, seeing this, broke out in a cold sweat.

Yesterday, someone from the president's office said Bella was banned from the Atlas Group building.

Now, not only had she come in, but she was also going nuts trying to attack Fiona. This was a no-go.

Several guards quickly pinned Bella to the ground.

Fiona didn't look back.

But while waiting for the elevator, she still heard Bella's mad cursing as she was pinned down, "Fiona, you're so shameless! For money, you'll sleep with any man! Darwin is getting married, and you still cling to him, you shameless mistress!"

The elevator opened.

Darwin, looking serious, was talking to the Atlas Group's VP.

He looked up and saw Fiona's pale face.

"What happened?" Darwin walked out, reaching to touch Fiona's face.

Fiona stepped back a big step.

Then, Darwin heard Bella's filthy curses.

His face darkened.

He glanced at Fiona, then led the people in the elevator out with big strides.

Henry, trailing behind, shot Fiona a look full of concern.

Fiona shook her head at him and stepped into the elevator alone.

When she got to the president's office, she found out that today the Ross family was signing a big-time deal with the Solomon Group.

The amount was massive.

Darwin and the VP had probably gone downstairs to meet the Ross family’s VP.

Fiona headed back to her office.

All of Bella's stuff was gone.

Darwin had even swapped out the office furniture for brand new pieces.

There were fresh flowers in the vase, too.

Fiona sat down, spun her chair around, and stared at the thick fog outside the floor-to-ceiling window.

There were quite a few people in the underground garage this morning.

This drama would soon spread through the company in a million versions.

But the core would stay the same: her and Darwin's messy relationship.

Darwin hadn't mentioned the Ross family deal to Fiona, naturally keeping her out of it.

Fiona had a chill morning.

A little after eleven, Henry knocked and came in. "Ms. Woods, Mr. Solomon will be having lunch with the guests."

Fiona nodded. "Got it."

Henry lingered, hesitating. "Ms. Woods, in the next few days, Mr. Solomon will gradually remove Ms. Garcia from all her positions in the Solomon Group and the Atlas Group."

Fiona was a bit taken aback. "What?"

Darwin was really going all out.

"Bella has also been dragged away, probably to suffer greatly!" Henry added.

"Okay." Fiona looked away.

What good would it do for Bella to suffer now?

The damage was already done.

"Mr. Solomon..."

"Henry." Fiona cut him off. "He's been annoyed with Ms. Garcia meddling in the Solomon Group and the Atlas Group for a while. Now he's just using the sanatorium incident as an excuse to get rid of her. And Bella, with the Solomon Group and the Ross family about to team up, she pulled this stunt in front of Hathaway. Even if it had nothing to do with me, Mr. Solomon would make her pay."

She smiled, bright but pale. "You've been with Mr. Solomon longer than I have. You can't seriously think he's doing this for me, right?"

Henry looked a bit embarrassed.

Fiona turned back to the window.

Most of the fog had cleared, leaving just a thin layer.

"Henry, we've known each other for years. You know how Darwin treated me before, right?" Fiona asked.

Henry stayed silent, looking down.

It was pretty bad, summoning her at will.

"Now, he seemed to be treating me differently, but don't get it twisted. He just suddenly sees me as a different person, and since I suggested the separation, his pride is on the line." Fiona paused. "He likes submissive ones. He'll get tired of the novelty sooner or later. When that time comes, anyone close to me will likely suffer. Understand?"

Henry was stunned.

A chill crept up his spine.

What Fiona described had indeed happened several times before.

But the targets were all high-level execs of the Solomon Group or the Atlas Group.

But the same logic seemed to fit.

"Go about your business." Fiona waved her hand. "I'm going to take a nap."

Henry said nothing more.

Fiona got up and went to the lounge.
