Chapter 1085
The guesthouse was quite a distance from the church, but many of the people staying here were visitors going to the church.
Calista and Daxton, the owner of this guesthouse, went to the church to pray every year and were very familiar with the church members.
Mason was the youngest child at the church.
The day he was sent to the church, Daxton and Calista happened to be there praying.
They had been married for many years and had not been able to conceive.
The next day, Calista was going to Bay City for her third round of IVF.
When they saw Mason, he was chubby, healthy and adorable. They knew he had lost his parents at a young age.
They discussed with each other that if this attempt was unsuccessful, they would come back and adopt Mason.
Daxton couldn't bear to see Calista go through such torment again.
He thought that if it didn't work this time, they would never try again.
Calista really wanted a child, so they would adopt one.
They had no hope initially, but it turned out to be successful.
Calista was particularly certain that Mason had brought her their own child.
Over the years, they took special care of him.
When the news of his death came, they couldn't believe it.
They rushed to the hospital and saw Mason being taken away by the coroner.
Calista had been crying non-stop for days.
During dinner, she saw the video circulating online.
She was heartbroken all night.
Just then, she looked up and saw Angela. "Stop right there!"
Calista slammed the table and walked towards Angela, who was eager to go upstairs.
Angela instinctively wanted to run.
However, two men were coming down the stairs, blocking her way.
Calista stepped forward, grabbed Angela's arm, and pulled her back. She was trembling all over. "It really is you, you wicked woman!"
Angela's face turned pale.
She struggled and looked in terror at the people accusing her.
"You knew your daughter would hurt people when she was sick, why didn't you take good care of her? Such a young child was ruined by you and your heartless daughter, and you didn't even say sorry, treating his life as if it didn't matter!" Calista said.
Her mind was filled with Mason's cute and innocent face.
She couldn't think of anything else.
She raised her hand and slapped Angela. "Give Mason back to me!"
Daxton heard the commotion and came out, quickly pulling Calista away. "What are you doing?"
"It's her!!" Calista pointed at Angela, crying in grief, "She's the one responsible for Mason's death!"
Daxton looked at Angela in shock.
Angela was completely stunned.
"We don't serve guests like you. Pack your things and leave our place immediately!" Daxton shouted angrily.
Angela hesitated for a moment, then became furious. "I paid for my stay. You have to serve me whether you want to or not! Otherwise, I'll report you to the authorities!"
Daxton sneered, "Your actions anger everyone who sees them. Report me if you want. Even if I get fined or shut down, I won't serve you!"
He signaled to a waiter. "Go get her things and throw them out!"
The waiter, also filled with righteous indignation, immediately went upstairs.
Moments later, Angela, along with her luggage, was thrown out onto the street.
