Chapter 985
Fiona remained silent. She had actually forgotten about this matter.
"I heard that Charles helped Alexander solve a big problem!" Thalassa said, her face full of pride. "Charles is so capable; he should choose a wife from among the children we all know! Besides, if our son and daughter get married, we know them very well, and we don't have to worry. When they grow up, they won't bring back strange people from outside!"
She paused for a moment, looking affectionately at Melissa. "These days, I get anxious just thinking about Melissa encountering a bad man in the future! So, Charles is the best! No one can be better than him!"
Charles had been emotionally stable since childhood, and he had inherited all the best features from his parents and blended them harmoniously. Not only was he good-looking, but he was also very smart. At a young age, without relying on his parents, he accumulated wealth that many couldn't earn in a lifetime.
Of course, aside from these external conditions, Charles had been polite since he was a child. Even though he was born into a top-tier wealthy family, he was always courteous, even to the household staff. He was also kind-hearted. Every year, he donated to charity, helping everything from small animals to underprivileged children, doing his best to assist.
Many adults couldn't compare to him.
The most crucial point was that Fiona would be the mother-in-law, so there was no worry that her daughter would be mistreated after marriage!
Thalassa's plan was already set. She was increasingly determined not to be Charles's godmother but to be his mother-in-law.
"Aren't you worrying a bit too early? Melissa is just a few days old!" Fiona looked at the baby in her arms, utterly delighted. "Besides, who knows if Melissa will even like a boring boy in the future, right?"
Melissa bit her hand and smiled at Fiona. Her soft and adorable appearance melted Fiona's heart.
"I don't care; let's settle it first. Whether they get along when they grow up is another matter!" Thalassa insisted firmly.
"You're the boss now, so we'll do as you say." As Fiona finished speaking, she saw Melissa yawn widely.
Then Fiona handed Melissa to the nurse, who took her away to sleep.
Although Thalassa had suffered a lot during childbirth, she had not only recovered in the past few days but looked even better than before. This was partly due to the care of the elderly and also because Kenny had been by her side day and night.
As Thalassa put it, even if she woke up at three or four in the morning wanting something to eat, Kenny would bring it to her immediately.
"Now, I often think that if all the suffering I endured before was to meet Kenny, I would go through it all again," Thalassa said sincerely, her eyes red as she glanced at Fiona.
Fiona patted her head. "Silly girl, if you had to do it again, just wait for Kenny to grow up without going through all that suffering."
Thalassa laughed. "You’re Right."
Fiona gently shook her head. "By the way, I might not be able to stay with you."
"What's wrong? Is there something at the company?" Thalassa asked.
"It's Darwin," Fiona said, frowning slightly.
"What's wrong with him?" Thalassa had just seen Darwin the day before yesterday. He looked fine, even healthier than when he first returned.
"He's particularly anxious," Fiona replied, "And there's something else I can't quite put my finger on. Do you think there's something wrong with him?"
Last night before bed, she had tossed and turned, thinking about what Janna had said on the phone. Weren't those signs of him getting better?
"In that case," Thalassa said, pursing her lips and tilting her head to look at Fiona. "Sometimes I find him strange."
