Chapter 67 Janna Rhoads Came to Help

"Who the heck are you?" Hestia gave the newcomer a once-over, her face dark as a storm cloud.

She thought the old lady looked pretty decent, but there wasn't a single fancy thing on her.

Hestia quickly made up her mind. 'Broke.'

"This is the person who helped save Mrs. Solomon today," Fiona said, strolling over. "Madam, why are you here?"

Janna Rhoads looked at Fiona with a gentle smile. "I was visiting a friend and was about to leave when I saw your folks looking for the kid who caused the ruckus. I heard someone was giving you and the caregiver a hard time, so I came over."

Anniston was already in a foul mood.

Seeing the person who messed up her plans, she didn't bother hiding her annoyance.

"Here to beg for money, huh?" Anniston shot a look at Henry. "Get them outta here and write a check."

Fiona stayed quiet.

"Ms. Garcia," she started to say, but Janna gave her a reassuring pat on the back.

Fiona looked at her.

But Janna turned her gaze to Anniston. "The Solomon family has really lost all its class with this generation, it's a shame."

"Who do you think you're talking about?" Anniston snapped, her anger flaring.

Stuart straightened up, took a step forward, and glared at Anniston.

He had no clue what Janna was up to. They were supposed to head out for dinner, and he was starving, but she suddenly turned back to find Fiona.

He couldn't make sense of what these people were saying.

But he could tell that, except for Fiona, everyone else had it out for Janna.

"What do you think you're doing?" Hestia and the woman hiding beside Anniston were both shocked. "This is the Solomon family's turf!"

"Yeah, I know it's the Solomon family's turf, and I find it gross. But I was worried Ms. Woods was getting bullied, so I came over despite my temper," Janna sneered. "Who was yelling about there being no surveillance just now?"

Anniston's face went rigid.

The woman behind her trembled.

Fiona looked at Janna with gratitude.

They'd only met once, but Janna knew she might be in trouble and came to help.

"Don't worry." Janna patted Fiona's back again, then took a small black box from Stuart's chest. "Even though the nursing home's cameras were conveniently off at that time, I recently started learning to shoot vlogs. I recorded the whole thing. I just checked, and I got clear shots of the two kids' faces."

Looking at Darwin, she handed him the small box. "Mr. Solomon, here you go."

"Darwin, who knows where this old lady came from, and who knows if what's in there is legit?" Hestia had no other thoughts; she just didn't like Fiona.

A few years back, she wanted to get her relative's daughter close to Darwin.

Even if that girl didn't end up marrying him, there'd still be a lot of money and perks to gain.

As far as she knew, Darwin had bought Fiona a multi-million dollar apartment.

And there was a New Port infrastructure project her son wanted, but Darwin gave it to Fiona.

What skills could a mistress have to handle such a big project?

Fiona must have made a killing.

But that project should've been her son's.

Hestia was fuming.

She came today to see Fiona squirm and to humiliate her a bit.

Now it seemed things weren't going her way.

She was far from satisfied.

She had to make Fiona take the fall.

"Don't project your dirty mind onto others," Janna snorted coldly, then looked at Fiona again. "Alright, I've delivered the evidence, I'm outta here."

"I'll see you out!" Fiona quickly said.

"No need, if you leave, who knows what nasty things they'll say here." Janna smiled kindly.

She always had a thing for good-looking people.

She had prioritized looks over substance when choosing a husband.

Today, she had noticed Fiona early on, a beautiful woman, sitting under a tree reading to the elderly.

The sunlight seemed to favor her, scattering gently on her, making her look like she was glowing in that serene atmosphere.

How could Janna not be drawn in?

And luckily, she was drawn in and walked over to her.

Stuart then had the chance to save Brooke.

Otherwise, these Solomon family members would have Fiona in big trouble.

"It's okay." Fiona smiled helplessly.

"Be good, I have your business card, I'll hit you up later." In the end, Janna didn't let Fiona see her out and left with Stuart.

Fiona felt a bit inexplicably reluctant.

Maybe it was her deep attachment to her grandmother.

She always couldn't help but invest her emotions in such gentle and loving elders.

Hathaway was quite upset with Darwin.

When she calmed down and returned, she happened to pass by Janna. "Ms. Rhoads?"

Janna turned back and recognized Hathaway. "Ms. Ross, long time no see. I heard you're engaged. Congrats!"

"Thanks." Hathaway quickly walked over. "What brings you here?"

"Visiting an old friend," Janna said lightly.

Hathaway wanted to say something more.

However, Mira came running over in a hurry. "Ms. Ross, something's wrong, Mr. Solomon is throwing a fit!"

Hathaway was stunned.

Janna spoke, "Ms. Ross, you should go handle that."

"Ms. Rhoads, are you staying in Armie recently?" Hathaway quickly asked.

Janna nodded. "I'll be here for a while."

"Alright, I'll contact you later!" Hathaway said and immediately ran off.

Stuart looked a bit listless.

He was starving.

Seeing this, Janna laughed heartily. "Hungry?"

Stuart nodded.

Janna laughed. "That's bad, we better hurry, or you'll be starving!"

Stuart mumbled, 'You were just saying you were too angry to eat.'

"Ms. Rhoads, Mr. Kelly doesn't know anything, how are we gonna find Mrs. Rhoads?" Stuart's words successfully shattered Janna's joy.

Her face turned somber. "Joshua Kelly has to know. He's Carla's adoptive father, he treated her like a treasure. Even though they later fell out because of his biological daughter, he wouldn't just let Carla go back to her biological parents without knowing everything about them!"

Janna glanced at the sky and sighed. "Even if she's really dead, I have to find her!"
