Chapter 1317

When Wyatt came back, he really shook things up over the next couple of weeks.

Even Fiona and Janna, all the way over in Bay City, kept hearing about Wyatt's antics from different sources.

"Yesterday, this old guy who’s retired now called me up and gave me an earful about Wyatt. Apparently, Wyatt snagged a key player from his grandson's team!" Janna told Fiona with a grin as they strolled in the sunset. "Wyatt's been back less than a month, and he's already fired most of the staff. People are waiting for him to crash and burn, but he's hiring new folks at lightning speed."

"Mr. Durham has always been impressive; he just didn't want to compete with others before," Fiona said.

She had met Wyatt before she quit her secretary job.

It was during a time when a project at the Solomon group hit a snag. Darwin was tied up with another case and couldn't get away, stuck over in Elysium.

Darwin had Fiona return to the country first.

He wanted Fiona to try to fix it, and if she couldn't, he’d help remotely.

But when Fiona got back, she found Wyatt had almost sorted it out already.

Fiona didn’t say anything then but secretly studied how he handled the issue. He was quick and decisive.

Later, she realized Wyatt didn’t like competing with others.

If he and someone else wanted the same thing, he’d politely let the other person have it.

That is, unless he didn’t like the person.

"Ms. White's situation turned out well," Janna said sincerely, "Wyatt is great as a friend, but not for a woman. She spent sixteen years of her youth completely changing Wyatt."

Fiona said, "Luckily, there's Alexander."

"Yeah, fate is funny like that. Even though Ms. White and Wyatt were tangled up for over a decade, it was clear to anyone that Ms. White and Alexander were the real deal," Janna said with a smile, "Seeing them together makes me really happy."

What Janna didn’t say was that if Fiona let go of her feelings for Darwin and moved on, she’d probably be like Stella. Harold would be a good match for Fiona.

"On a business trip, I met Harold's mom, Elodie," Janna suddenly changed the topic. "She’s worried about Harold’s marriage."

"Harold's all about the group's business right now, so no need to worry about that yet."

"He's almost thirty."

Fiona didn’t respond.

Janna glanced at her and shook her head helplessly.

Jessie was doing well now.

A few days ago, Bob and Slin came back to Bay City for a short visit. They didn’t see anyone but spent a few days with Jessie at Emerald Pool.

Jessie felt really down.

She clung to Bob and Slin for days.

After they left, she couldn’t eat for several days.

Chicago was really worried.

Every day before and after school, she’d go keep Jessie company and coax her to eat.

Only in the past couple of days had Jessie perked up again.

Now, she was back to ambushing Stuart.

After Chicago’s river incident, Stuart treated Jessie like royalty, letting her do whatever she wanted, just worried about her old injuries flaring up.

He just made sure Jessie ate well and was taken care of.
