Chapter 943
Wyatt carried the kitty back to the bedroom.
He solemnly went to the bar to pour two glasses of warm water, walked back to the living room, placed the water in front of Fiona, and sat down across from her, asking, "Did Thalassa give birth?"
Fiona nodded. "A super cute little girl."
"Congratulations." Wyatt nodded and took a few sips of water. "Is Stella over there too?"
Fiona nodded again. "And how are you recovering?"
Wyatt chuckled and looked up at Fiona. "Mrs. Solomon, do I look like I can recover well?"
It was said that time healed all wounds.
Wyatt used to console Darwin like this before.
However, now it was his turn, Wyatt realized that time was not a remedy but a slow-acting poison.
"Is this the reason why you're driving your former friends crazy day and night?" Fiona asked resignedly.
Wyatt immediately frowned. He had wanted to ask if Stella had sent her to check on him. But now, that wouldn't be necessary.
"Oliver has been so distraught that he keeps pestering me and Darwin for days." Fiona looked at Wyatt. "Wyatt, what are you thinking? You and Stella are over. Are you going to turn against all your friends, too?"
"Stay out of this." Wyatt drank his water and set down the glass. "You go about your business. I know what I should do."
After saying that, Wyatt intended to go back to his room.
Fiona sighed. She stood up and looked at Wyatt's slender and lonely figure, saying, "Wyatt, have you considered how many people you will offend by doing this? You don't care about your future. What about the Durham family?"
Wyatt didn't pause at all.
Fiona raised her voice and asked further, "What about Stella?"
Wyatt stopped.
Finally, he turned around. "What does this have to do with Stella?"
"You're Mr. Durham, standing high above all. No matter what you do, you have the powerful support of the Durham family, but Stella doesn't!" Fiona furrowed her brow. "If you push people too far, even if Stella hasn't done anything, those people think you're doing these crazy things for Stella. They may not dare to lay a finger on you, but will they go at Stella?"
Wyatt furrowed his brow. "They wouldn't dare!"
"They may not dare to do it openly, but what about in secret?" Fiona stared at Wyatt. "Like a car accident. If Stella goes abroad, they could easily spend some money buying off a small gang to stage a fight with Stella present!"
"Stop it!" Wyatt's face instantly went pale.
"Stop now. Anyway, you still have control," Fiona earnestly advised, "Wyatt, everyone is moving on. You should also let go of the past and continue with your life!"
"I can't let go!" Wyatt roared.
Fiona felt the urge to punch Wyatt.
"For sixteen years, most of my life has been connected to Stella. Many of my habits were formed because of her. How can I let go?" Wyatt asked with red eyes.
"If you can't let go, then don't. If you carry the past, can't you live a normal life?" Fiona retorted, "Given your current state, it's like Stella emotionally abused you for over a decade and then dumped you. Is that funny or not?"
During this time, everyone around him was acting cautious, including Wyatt's parents.
No one dared to scold Wyatt as Fiona did.
Wyatt, in a frenzy, pulled at his hair several times. His breathing became rapid. He had to stand still to take deep breaths, and then he looked at Fiona. "I know I was wrong."
"Wyatt, it's not about whether you're right or wrong anymore." Fiona's voice softened a bit.
This sentence seemed to be the catalyst for Wyatt's emotional breakdown.
He covered his face with both hands and burst into tears.
Now, he seemed like a person with a split personality.
One moment ago, he was telling himself to accept that Stella didn't love him.
