Chapter 1003
Mason's affection for Stella was evident to Liam.
After she left last time, he finished his tasks and sat at the church door, gazing outside.
Although Mason said nothing, Liam knew that he was waiting for Stella.
In the evening, when he and Alexander rushed to the hospital, they saw Mason and Stella walking out hand in hand. Mason's face was filled with joy that Liam had never seen before.
Liam noticed the change in Mason.
Mason didn't understand Buddhism; he only knew that reading in the church was part of his daily routine, so the church might not hold much significance for him.
"Have you asked Mason?" Father Ben didn't inquire about the reason.
Liam shook his head. "There's nothing to ask. I can make decisions for him."
Father Ben sighed deeply. "You brought Mason back, so it's your decision whether he stays or leaves."
"Understood." Liam nodded.
Father Ben closed his eyes.
There was an incense burner beside him. Alexander brought it.
He was now in the antique business, and he bought this incense burner five years ago.
At that time, he thought Father Ben would like it, so he bought it.
Alexander also blended the materials in the incense. It had soothing effects.
Father Ben liked the faint fragrance it emitted.
Alexander accompanied Stella, walking around the church for about an hour. After sending her back, he returned to Father Ben's room.
Unfortunately, Liam had just helped Father Ben to bed. He gently closed Father Ben's door, and as he turned around, Alexander entered.
"Father Ben just took his medicine and fell asleep," Liam said. Then he walked towards Alexander and said, "Father Alexander, your needles and medicine are really effective. Father Ben is in better condition today than any other day."
Alexander nodded slightly. His gaze fell on Father Ben's door. He knew that such a state was of little use.
"Is Mrs. Beaumont alright?" Liam asked awkwardly.
"She's not in a good mood," Alexander replied, "By the way, Liam, does the church have contact information for that family? Stella and her friends are trying to contact some experts on dissociative identity disorder, and Hubert can help her with a diagnosis."
"She's quite kind," Liam said, taking out his phone and making a call. After inquiring, he hung up. "They had called a few times before. I'll have them contact you tomorrow."
Liam paused.
He added, "However, they already think that woman has mental issues, so they might not accept your help."
"Let's see how it goes," Alexander said calmly.
If Patricia's family refused, there was nothing they could do.
"Father Ben said before he fell asleep that if you came, you should go back and rest; no need to stay by his side," Liam paused and said, "Let's go; I'll walk you back."
His face couldn't hide his intentions.
Alexander knew at a glance that he had something to say. So he nodded in agreement.
As they crossed the threshold and walked towards Alexander's room, Liam kept his head down, staring at his toes, saying nothing.
Alexander didn't rush him, silently walking forward.
Just as they were about to reach Alexander's room, Liam finally bit the bullet and asked, "Father Alexander, you and Mrs. Beaumont are not young anymore. Have you considered having a child?"
