Chapter 1175

"Hey, keep it down," Fiona whispered, giving Burl's arm a gentle pat.

"What's up, Fiona?" Burl asked, lowering his voice.

Fiona was feeling pretty low, but Burl's cluelessness made her chuckle.

"I'll fill you in later. For now, just be a good sport. If you can get up early to help with Chicago and Charles, that'd be awesome," Fiona said.

Burl hesitated. "So, you want me to babysit Chicago and Charles?"

Fiona gave him a playful punch. "I'm serious!"

Burl laughed and nodded. "Got it. Janna and Thalassa are both not here. If something's bugging you, don't keep it bottled up. I'm a grown-up now; I can handle it. Plus, I still have a few million bucks, remember?"

"Okay," Fiona nodded earnestly.

She knew she had support, so there was no need to freak out. No matter what was coming or what Aiden's fate would be, with her around, Darwin would be fine.

"Oh, by the way, Dagwood took those two kids back, and they're officially going to school abroad now. He posted a pic on Instagram. The kids and Dagwood look way happier," Burl added.

Since saying goodbye to Dagwood, he had pretty much disappeared from Fiona's life. Even when Darwin was in trouble, Dagwood only got updates through Burl.

"That's good," Fiona nodded.

"Things will get better," Burl said, sensing Fiona had something on her mind but didn't want to spill it. He could only comfort her this way.

"I know. It's late, and I've got stuff to do tomorrow. You should hit the hay early too," Fiona said.

Burl nodded and watched Fiona leave his room. Then, he looked at the piece of paper in his hand.

He opened the search engine he had developed and typed in 'Aiden.' No results popped up, which was a first for him. Thinking it might be a glitch, he typed in 'Brooke,' and tons of stuff showed up. That was normal.

Burl searched for 'Aiden' again, and still nothing. His search engine filtered out irrelevant data, so this was weird. Initially, he was just doing this because Fiona asked, but now he was curious. He wanted to know who Aiden really was.

Late at night, heavy rain started pouring down. Fiona went back to her bedroom, glanced at the raindrops hitting the window, and closed the curtains. She walked back to the bed where Darwin was still asleep. She held his hands and kissed them gently.

Fiona was ready for the worst. No matter what the diagnosis would be tomorrow, she would do everything to make him better.
