Chapter 1012
As long as she was in North Alabama, Brady and Declan always saved food for her.
"Her mother is also happy for Brady and Chicago to play with her. She says that after spending more than a month with them, Brady's mind has become sharper," Scarlet said with a smile.
As she was speaking, a cute little head peeked in from outside the door.
"Chicago," Scarlet said kindly.
"Is the baby still sleeping?" Chicago asked softly.
The children had all been in the room earlier. When Nora fell asleep, Chicago led others to play outside, not wanting to disturb Nora's nap. Her protective instincts towards Nora were incredibly strong.
"It's okay, come to me." Scarlet beckoned to her.
Chicago tiptoed in, peeking at Nora again. She adored Nora, who was soft and sweet.
"What's up, baby?" Fiona pulled Chicago into her arms.
"I saw Aunt Stella and Uncle Alexander bought some food, so I came to help my brother and sister get some!" Chicago whispered in Fiona's ear.
Fiona immediately laughed and then said to Alexander, "She's here for what you're holding."
Alexander smiled and handed the bag he had bought for the children to Chicago. "Can you carry it?"
Chicago immediately stood tall and said, "Of course I can!"
With that, she left Fiona's embrace, stepped forward, and took the bag. She waved to the adults with a relaxed expression. "I'm off now; you all go on!"
Thalassa laughed so hard he leaned back.
Fiona was also laughing and instinctively glanced at Darwin.
Since the last time Darwin's mistake had caused Chicago to get hurt, he hadn't been alone with her.
When Fiona looked at Darwin, he happened to be looking at her, too. Their eyes met, and he smiled gently. "What's the matter?"
Fiona shook her head, withdrew her gaze, and continued talking with Thalassa and the others. She intertwined her fingers with Darwin's, their hands tightly clasped. His thumb gently caressed the back of her hand.
As they chatted, it was time for Nora to go swimming.
Nora had been swimming many times since she was born, but unfortunately, Scarlet had never been present. Even Fiona had seen her swim. This time, Scarlet volunteered to take Nora upstairs herself.
As they were leaving, they ran into Kenny, who had just returned from work. Without a word, he joined them.
"It's really so interesting," Stella said as she sat down, her hands trembling slightly.
Although Nora was just a baby, she was so well cared for. After holding her for half an hour, Stella's arms were already sore and trembling uncontrollably!
Seeing this, Alexander cleaned up the packed desserts, wiped his hands, and sat down next to Stella to help her relax her arms.
"Let's talk about something important." Fiona began. "What is Patricia's family's attitude?"
"They are willing to accept treatment," Alexander replied.
He didn't mention that Betty had no money. Since the issue had arisen from Stella, it was only right for him to bear the medical expenses.
