Chapter 780 She Will Take Revenge Sooner or Later
Fiona got up and walked toward Darwin. Darwin, leaning on a cane, reached out and held Fiona's hand, gripping it tightly.
Fiona, initially angry, felt her anger dissipate. It was evident that Darwin was genuinely concerned about her.
"Darwin!" Mr. Soloman Sr. suddenly rushed over. Mike, not one to be trifled with, swiftly intervened, executing a powerful shoulder throw that sent Mr. Soloman Sr. crashing to the ground.
Darwin glanced at Mike, his eyes devoid of emotion, a sight that unnerved Mr. Soloman Sr.
The child who had always sought his approval seemed ready to abandon him. How could that be?
Mr. Soloman Sr. panicked, then had an idea. Despite his own difficulties, he had to be an anchor for this couple. Darwin was always suspicious...
"Darwin!" Mr. Soloman Sr. shouted again. "You can't imagine how ruthless Fiona can be! Don't forget, you emotionally abused her for five years and nearly caused the death of her twins! You drove her to fake her death and escape! If you hadn't threatened her family and friends, would she have married you? Just wait! She will seek revenge, sooner or later!"
"Mike! Can't you shut up a fool?" Fiona turned around, her gaze icy as she looked at Mike.
It was the first time Mike had experienced such an icy glare from Fiona. He swiftly struck Mr. Solomon Sr.'s jaw. With his jaw now injured, Mr. Solomon Sr. could only emit peculiar sounds of pain.
Fiona looked at Darwin, her eyes filled with shock and disbelief. "Let's go back," Fiona said, her brows furrowed, as she took Darwin's hand and walked away.
Once they were back in the car and the door was closed, silence filled the vehicle. Darwin lowered his eyes, staring at his scar-faded hand. "Why don't we have wedding rings?"
"We haven't had the chance to prepare," Fiona replied.
Darwin's tongue ran over his dry lips. "So, everything he said is true. I emotionally abused you for five years, and I almost killed Charles and Chicago. Even our marriage was forced by me..."
"We had reconciled before your accident!" Fiona wished she could go back and chop Mr. Soloman Sr. into pieces!
"Reconciled..." Darwin subconsciously repeated Fiona's words. But his hands on his knees were trembling. Just listening to these events made him feel suffocated. If someone treated Fiona like that, he would kill that person!
"What else? What else have I done? Honey, tell me, tell me everything!" Darwin grabbed Fiona's hand, like a person dying of thirst, seeking a lifesaving drop of water.
"Darwin, calm down," Fiona hurriedly said. "Let's go home and talk, okay?"
Darwin looked at Fiona, and for some reason, he thought of that apartment. "Yesterday, that apartment..."
Fiona's eyelids drooped, her voice weak, but she still replied, "We lived there for five years."
Five years... Darwin's head instantly throbbed. So, that place was where the emotional abuse happened?
"After I left, you lived there alone for five years," Fiona continued. "Returning there must have stirred up a lot of pain, remnants from those five years."
"You accompanied me there," Darwin uttered, his eyes reddened. Fiona didn't object; she simply stated, "If it still distresses you when we arrive, I'll take you away immediately."
Darwin nodded. His gaze fell on the words "Klein Mansion" outside the window. In Darwin's mind, the image of a woman in a bright dress, teasing him, emerged again. That was her home...
Half an hour later, Fiona brought Darwin back to the small apartment. Darwin didn't feel as uncomfortable as he did when he came yesterday. He let go of Fiona's hand and walked into the bedroom alone.
After looking around, he came out and his eyes fell on the door of the study. The pain in his heart was intensifying.
Fiona, seeing this, held his hand and sat back on the sofa. "I didn't intend to hide these things from you, but because you lost your memory, it's indeed..." Fiona tried to put it delicately.
"It's cruel and hurtful, right?" Darwin asked.
Fiona sighed and nodded. "But after ten years of struggle, we both understand each other's feelings, so we reconciled long ago. Before your accident, we were a happy family."
"Did we really reconcile?" Darwin looked at Fiona, the pain in his eyes like a turbulent sea. "But why, when I woke up, I always felt that you hated me and didn't want me?" His voice choked up.
Fiona's heart ached. It turned out that after he came back, he never let go of his initial fear. Perhaps... that fear had always been there before the accident.
"Darwin, you're really bad!" Fiona said, raising her hand to caress his cheek.
Darwin, as always, immediately pressed his cheek against Fiona's palm.
"It was you who bullied me first, that's why I ran away. How come now you're the pitiful one, and I have to go to great lengths to please you." Fiona's tone was filled with helplessness.
Darwin's eyes were red, and he looked even weaker after losing weight. It was a good thing. With his eyes red from crying, he looked more like the one being bullied.
"Okay," Fiona's tone softened. "I believe during those years I was away, you might have developed some psychological issues. I had planned to take you to see a psychologist before your accident. After these two days, I'll accompany you to see a psychologist, alright?"
Darwin looked at her. He buried his head in her arms, holding her, and gently nodded. It seemed that he would agree to anything as long as he didn't lose her.
Fiona felt both amused and exasperated. But Fiona had to admit that, whether it was in the past or now, she knew that Darwin would always give in to her. "Darwin, do you still want to hear about what happened between us?"
Fiona paused for a moment and added truthfully, "I have to tell you, there are some things I don't want to remember."
As soon as Darwin heard this, he held Fiona even tighter. "Then let's not talk about it. I will regain my memory!" Darwin said.
Fiona patted his back. "Don't be so clingy. Look up at me."
Darwin obediently raised his head to look at her.
Fiona held his face. "Now that everyone knows you're back, there will be more than one Mr. Soloman Sr. in the future, but you can't be afraid every time someone mentions something from the past. So, let's make a deal, okay?" "
