Chapter 1067
Randy hesitated and wavered. But after thinking it over, Darwin had spent so much money planning for Ethan's future.
He couldn't possibly mean him any harm.
"Alright, I'll wait for you outside!" Randy said, then looked worriedly at Ethan.
Ethan didn't look at him.
Before Randy went out, he picked up a cake box from the cabinet and placed it further away from Ethan.
Ethan's birthday was coming up soon.
Today, he had used the excuse of celebrating his birthday to bring him here.
After Randy went out, Darwin sat down with the help of his cane.
"Ethan, do you know where you went wrong this time?" he asked.
Ethan said nothing.
Darwin didn't mind. "You were hired by my wife, you and Chicago are not friends. When you knew Chicago had plans to escape, as someone hired, you should have informed me and my wife. But perhaps to please Chicago. Or for some other reason, you didn't."
"I will refund the tutoring fees," Ethan said in a deep voice.
Darwin shook his head. "No need, I've already arranged the price you have to pay. Strictly speaking, these costs are something many people spend their whole lives seeking."
"I just said, I will transfer schools and won't contact your family again." Ethan replied solemnly.
"The owner of the tutoring center you often go to, although he hasn't done anything excessive, still..."
"Darwin!" Ethan shouted in shock.
"Randy seems to treat you well too." Darwin looked at him with a gentle smile. "Ethan, you can choose not to follow my arrangements, but someone will always pay the price for your mistakes."
The most ruthless people that Ethan had faced were Anthony and his family.
He thought that was an insurmountable mountain, so he eventually borrowed Fiona's strength.
But now, Ethan looked at the gentle Darwin in front of him.
A massive shadow completely enveloped him.
As a young boy, he couldn't find a way to escape this shadow.
"Mr. Solomon, my parents are still buried in Bay City, I don't want to leave them, I beg you." Ethan finally bowed his head and gave in.
After his parents left, even when Anthony beat him half to death, he never bowed his head and begged for mercy. But now, it had become the reason for him to bow his head.
"It is precisely for your parents that you should accept my arrangements. Study hard and make something of yourself after you leave, only then will they be comforted." Darwin remained unmoved.
Ethan's whole body stiffened.
He slowly looked up at Darwin. "Do Mrs. Solomon and Chicago know you're doing this?"
"They can know, or they can not know, the choice is yours." Darwin's expression slowly turned cold. "But as I said, any decision you make will bring consequences. Think carefully about whether you can bear them."
"Mrs. Solomon won't allow you to do this!"
"Indeed, she won't." Darwin tugged at the corner of his mouth. "But for me, it's just a scolding. She might be cold to me for a few days, but for you, it's different."
Ethan trembled all over.
"You're very smart, you know what to do. The flight is booked for tomorrow noon, you still have time to say goodbye to your friends and parents," after Darwin finished speaking, he slowly stood up. "You saved Chicago, I'm grateful, so you don't have to worry about expenses over there. I'll make sure you live very comfortably."
Then, he gently patted Ethan's thin shoulder and walked out without looking back.
Randy didn't dare go far.
Seeing Darwin come out, he quickly ran up with a smile. "Mr. Solomon, are you leaving now?"
"Ethan is in a bad mood. You're here to celebrate his birthday, so I won't stay and disturb you," Darwin said gently, "Ethan is lucky to have a teacher like you."
"Please don't say that! Compared to what you and your wife have done for these kids, I really feel ashamed!"
Darwin smiled faintly. "I won't disturb your meal, I'll be going now."
"Alright!"
