Chapter 134 Handing Over to Grandma

Darwin froze instantly.

Both of them fell into silence for a moment, and Fiona was about to break free from his grip.

But Darwin suddenly tightened his hold. Then Fiona heard him lower his voice and ask, "Why didn't you tell me earlier?"

Fiona was amused by Darwin’s question. "Why? Darwin, why? At that time, if I had told you that I was pregnant, would you have let me stay?"

Darwin was stunned. Fiona knew she was pregnant on the second day they were apart. At that time, he was not paying attention to her.

"I had originally planned to find a quiet place to give birth to them and let them grow up happily. It was your possessiveness, using my loved ones to threaten me, that forced me to come back," Fiona looked at Darwin with disappointment in her eyes. "During those days when you released me from our engagement, I truly believed that you had changed, and both babies and I could rely on you. We would have been a happy family."

"Fiona...," Darwin choked, gripping her hand tightly. "I know I was wrong, I truly... know I was wrong!"

"You know you were wrong, but what can you change?" Fiona coldly asked, then answered herself, "Let me tell you, you can't change anything. You can't get the babies back, nor can you restore the love I once had for you." It was love that once existed. There would be no more in the future.

After speaking, Fiona didn't want to listen to Darwin's apologies and regrets anymore. If Wyatt hadn't been there that day, her children would truly be gone. Essentially, Darwin had already killed them once. So, from now on, there would be no connection between her babies and Darwin.

She forcefully withdrew her hand. Never again would she look at Darwin, she walked towards the hospital ward. Darwin sat there in despair. His hands clasped, pressing against his forehead, his tall figure hunched over. Since knowing that he had killed his own children, during this short half-day, Darwin felt as if he had been thrown into boiling oil in hell.

He always felt pain.

Always felt panic.

Always felt regret.

He wished so much that there was a time-traveling machine in this world. It would allow him to go back to that foolish moment and stop himself from committing such a crime.

Hathaway quickly realized that she couldn't contact Jones. After her plane landed at her own airport, she made more than ten calls in a row to Jones. The phone wasn't turned off, it was just in a state where no one answered.

"Jones must have been captured by Darwin!" Hathaway suddenly panicked. She had already witnessed Darwin's methods regarding the annulment. She was afraid that he would repeat the same tricks. Just as Hathaway was in a state of despair and confusion, an unfamiliar number called in.

Hathaway glanced at the number, feeling somewhat surprised, but still immediately answered.

"I heard about your situation," a gentle voice came from the other end. "What happened? Why are you so careless?"

“I really don't know what to do. Didn't you say that Darwin would never give up on our business alliance?" Hathaway cried.

"He... has changed a lot over the years." There was a pause on the other end, followed by a soft addition, "Perhaps because of Fiona? I can't understand him now either."

"Fiona!" Hathaway gnashed her teeth, "It's all because of her! She's the reason Eric is still missing, and she made Darwin force me to cancel the engagement... And now... even Jones may have been harmed!"

"I didn't expect a body double to be so capable." The person on the other end of the phone sighed, "We all know that it was her who betrayed Darwin and got pregnant with another man's child, but she can still turn things around. Now Darwin firmly believes that he killed his own child, so I doubt he will her you go. Just be careful."

Hathaway's heart pounded as she listened.

The call was disconnected.

Mia looked at Lilian, "Why did you hang up? Didn't you want her to take action against Fiona?"

"Hathaway is a smart person. At this point, she knows what to do." Lilian lowered her eyelids, "Besides, do you know how many people are protecting Fiona now? It's impossible to harm her."

"Then..."

"Fiona just had an abortion; her physical and mental health should not be good. Tell me, what do you think will happen if she experiences more stress?" Lilian asked with a smile.

Mia instantly understood and smiled.

The following days were relatively calm. Some members of the Solomon or Klein family tried their best to contact Fiona, hoping that she could persuade Darwin to release Anniston from the psychiatric hospital. But in the end, Fiona didn't respond to them. Instead, one after another, they encountered various troubles. Everyone quickly realized that Darwin was preventing them from finding Fiona. As a result, no one dared to contact Fiona anymore.

Fiona spent every day with Ashton. The two of them ate, drank, and watched dramas together, enjoying their days to the fullest. Darwin didn't come to the hospital again. However, whenever Fiona was active in the hospital, she could always see one or two familiar faces. They were all Darwin's trusted bodyguards.

In addition to Darwin's men, there were occasionally a few Southeast Asian faces in the hospital.
They were arranged by Janna. Besides this, Janna also arranged to have meals delivered three meals, 3 times day for Fiona. They were either eaten by Ashton or the nurses.
Fiona wouldn't touch them.

On this day, Janna Rhoads found an opportunity and finally went to the hospital to see Fiona.

"Well, you look pretty good!" Janna exclaimed when she saw Fiona. She looked like she was very tired with red-eyed but also seemed relieved.

Fiona had an indifferent expression and remained silent.

Janna thought it was because Fiona was feeling down. "Child, to avoid future trouble, let me get straight to the point," Janna Rhoads grasped Fiona's hand. "Grandma wants to know if you are still with Darwin."

"Of course not!" Fiona answered without hesitation. She didn't need a partner who didn't trust her.
"Ah!" Janna nodded. "Your belly will soon grow like a blown-up balloon, day by day. So, Grandma plans to create an accident in a few days and take you out of the country while chaos ensues."

"Escaping has never been difficult. But now, Dagmar is suffering because of his hands, and my best friend and those blind children from the orphanage I've been supporting..." Fiona clenched her fists. "If I escape, Darwin will surely take it out on them!"

"Faking death?" Janna frowned. "That won't be easy. If it's to be convincing enough, one moment of carelessness and you and the children could get hurt.”

"Hmm..."

These past few days, Fiona had been thinking about a method that would make Darwin believe she was dead, with no trace of her remains. Still there were always flaws.

"Leave it to Grandma," Janna said reassuringly when she saw Fiona furrow her brows.
