Chapter 1141

Darwin said his piece and bolted out of the elevator.

Once Darwin hit the garage, he hopped into the car parked the farthest and peeled out.

Christopher shot a look at Fiona.

He thought, 'In movies, if a dude bails early without hitting work or telling his wife, he's probably got a side chick.'

"Show me the elevator footage again," Fiona demanded.

The surveillance guy didn't waste any time.

Fiona zeroed in on the screen.

She finally caught what was off the first time she watched it.

Darwin wasn't using his cane.

His legs had healed, and without a cane, he usually needed something to hold onto to stay upright.

But from the third floor to the basement garage, even though he was in a rush, he stood rock steady.

"Get Xavier over here," Fiona said, ice in her voice.

"Xavier just got a call and took off," Christopher said, but he still pulled out his phone and dialed Xavier.

The call picked up quick.

Christopher put it on speaker. "Xavier, Mrs. Solomon needs you. Where'd you go?"

"Christopher, I got something urgent. Tell Mrs. Solomon I'll be back soon!"

Fiona didn't say a word.

She just grabbed Christopher's phone.

"Xavier, I just found out Darwin isn't home, and I can't reach him. Do you know where he went?" Fiona asked, her voice cold as ice.

Xavier didn't answer, so Fiona warned, "Don't lie, or you'll be out of a job."

"Mrs. Solomon, please don't make this hard for me." Xavier sounded like he was about to cry.

"Are you heading to Darwin?" Fiona asked.

When Xavier remained silent, Fiona understood perfectly well.

"He told you not to tell me, right?" Fiona pressed.

Xavier stayed quiet, which Fiona took as a yes.

"Send me the address," Fiona ordered.

"Mrs. Solomon, I swear, Mr. Solomon doesn't have a lover!" Xavier said, panicking.

"I know," Fiona replied coolly, "Just give me the address. I won't let him know I went."

She paused. "Xavier, Darwin is my husband, the father of my child. I need to know what's going on with him, got it?"

Actually, Xavier found that Darwin had been acting weird lately.

Xavier glanced at the location he was heading to.

It was a police station in a town over a hundred kilometers away from the city.

"Mrs. Solomon, we have a deal. You can come, but don't let Mr. Solomon know," Xavier said, scared.

Fiona's voice was cold. "Address."

Xavier sent the address in a flash.

When she saw the destination, Fiona's brow furrowed.

"Isn't this Mr. Solomon's mom's hometown?" Christopher blurted out after glancing at it.

Fiona looked at him.

Christopher gave an awkward smile. "You know, I once had a job tracking your kid. Did some research and remembered this place."

"Let's go." Fiona got into the car they had driven out earlier.

Christopher nodded and slid into the driver's seat.

He silently hoped Darwin hadn't done anything too crazy.

Back at Elysium, he had dealt with some pretty rich clients.
