Chapter 1222
When Fiona went upstairs, she got a message saying the meds were ready and waiting at the airport for the private jet to take off.
The meds would be in Fiona's hands by tomorrow morning.
That night, Fiona crashed in the lounge across the hall because Mike and Christopher wouldn't let her stay in Darwin's room.
They were worried that if something went wrong, they wouldn't be able to react fast enough.
Fiona didn't want them stressing out, so she didn't argue and just went to the lounge.
She must've been exhausted because she fell asleep as soon as she hit the bed.
Her dreams were wild.
She dreamed about the police station where Darwin had been recently, with the same heavy rain. She was sitting in the car, staring at the police station's entrance.
Darwin was soaked and looked like a mess, standing there. Next to him was a young boy in ragged clothes, covered in scars.
The boy looked a bit like Darwin, and he also had some of Brooke's features.
Everything was quiet.
Fiona looked at Adien through the rain.
After a while, she got out of the car, and took Darwin away with an umbrella, and when she looked back, Adien was still standing there, his eyes red and filled with tears, looking at her like he'd been abandoned.
The scene changed.
She was back in Brooke's hospital room during her final moments.
Brooke was in pain but still hopeful.
Then Fiona heard her say, "Fiona, don't abandon him. If you don't want him, no one will love him."
Next thing she knew, she was at the Window of Art Museum, vaguely hearing Anniston's angry voice.
She quickly pushed the door open.
The room was packed with members of the Solomon Family, some she knew, some she didn't, all turning their heads mechanically to look at her.
The room was eerily silent, and the scene was super weird.
Only one person stood there with his back to her.
"Darwin?" Fiona heard herself call out.
The figure slowly turned around, standing among the crowd, and looked at her.
As soon as Fiona met his gaze, she took two steps back. "You're not Darwin!"
All the Solomon family members stared at her eerily, and after she said that, they all grinned widely at the same time.
Terrified, Fiona immediately turned to run.
At that moment, a figure rushed out from behind her and punched the creepy Darwin.
Then, the two Darwins started fighting.
Before long, the newcomer was being choked by the creepy Darwin.
With a face full of pain, he looked at her and said, "Run."
The next second, the choked Darwin turned into a thick mist and disappeared.
Fiona's heart felt like it was being ripped apart.
She heard herself screaming Darwin's name hoarsely.
Just as she was about to rush into the thick mist, she heard the innocent voices of Charles and Chicago behind her.
"Mommy, come back!" Fiona immediately stopped and turned around.
She saw Charles and Chicago crying, standing in front of the fake Darwin.
