Chapter 1251

"You remember me! That's awesome!" the attorney said with a grin. "Are you back in the country now?"

"Yeah, just got back today. What's up?" Fiona asked.

Why was Brooke's lawyer reaching out to her?

"It's about Brooke's inheritance. She left all her collections to you, but you never finished the paperwork," the attorney said, sounding a bit exasperated. "My health's been going downhill lately. If I don't get this sorted, I wouldn't even have the face to see her; I'd definitely get an earful! So, I'm reaching out, kinda awkwardly."

Darwin had mentioned this to Fiona before.

But back then, they were still on bad terms. Fiona hadn't even thought about dealing with those items.

She said, "Sorry, Darwin and I totally forgot about this."

The attorney replied, "No worries. If you have time, please come update the collection's access rights with me."

Fiona checked the time. "Are you free today?"

The attorney, eager to get it done, quickly agreed.

Fiona hung up.

Henry was still around, so Fiona asked, "Got anything else to do?"

"Nope, I'll come with you!" Henry said.

"Alright." Fiona nodded.

Brooke's collection was massive, taking up an entire floor of the central bank's underground vault, with a hefty annual rent.

When they got to the central bank, Fiona saw the silver-haired attorney and his student.

"Long time no see." Fiona stepped forward to shake hands.

It really had been a long time.

The last time Fiona saw the attorney was before Brooke had completely lost her mind.

Nearly ten years had passed since then.

"Ms. Woods, you haven't aged a bit," the attorney said with a smile. "No, I should call you Mrs. Solomon now. When Brooke first met you, she was sure Darwin would fall for you."

"Stop joking." Fiona looked down.

The attorney could tell she didn't want to dwell on the past, so he got straight to business.

He pulled out a bunch of documents.

Fiona sat down and carefully went through each one.

As a super VIP client of the central bank, the lunch provided was quite lavish.

Fiona barely touched her food. After confirming the documents were all good, she signed and handed them to the staff.

With security in tow, they headed to the underground first floor.

After several security checks, they finally reached the vault.

Next up was appraising and verifying the jewelry collection mentioned in the will.

After a lot of effort, the verification was done.

The lawyer handed over the will documents, and the central bank staff collected Fiona's fingerprints and iris scans on the spot to update the access rights.

After that, the attorney looked a bit worn out.

"Finally, I finished the last task," the attorney said, his hand trembling slightly as he leaned on his cane. "Now I don't have to worry about getting scolded by Brooke."

Fiona helped him walk out, saying, "You've always been someone my grandma trusted and valued; she wouldn't scold you."

The attorney walked slowly forward.

"You're a good kid. Brooke said you have a strong core. If only Ms. Everhart back then had half of your strength..." he said, then quickly shut his mouth, realizing he might've said too much.

"Marisole, right?" Fiona asked.

The attorney looked at Fiona, shocked.

"I already know," Fiona replied calmly. "Marisole, Aiden, and..."

She stopped there, looking at the attorney.
