Chapter 447 Burl's Fiery Outburst

The subject of the scandal hadn't even reacted when Aurora abruptly stood up. "Who did this? Lay, find someone to turn it off!"

"Turn it off? Why? It's all over the campus forum. It's a good chance for Scholar God to see for himself and allow Mrs. Walker to refute," Jasper said with arms crossed and a smirk on his face, watching Thalassa.

"What's there to refute about baseless rumors?" Kenny's gaze moved to Jasper, each word he uttered weighted with significance.

"Love can cloud your judgment, Scholar God. There are photos, real evidence, even a video of her cuddling up with some pretty boy." Jasper seemed to have forgotten his previous comment that their playful interaction looked more sibling-like.

"Yeah, Scholar God! You couldn't possibly know about her child, right?" The provocateur spoke with a tone of irritating surprise, a clear intent to mock.

They weren't concerned if Kenny knew.

All they cared about was that Scholar God had fallen for a ploy even they wouldn't have fallen for.

"Just a moment," Thalassa, busily typing on her phone, replied without missing a beat, momentarily glancing up from her screen.

The crowd in the restaurant carried a collective sneer. Kenny's spine might have been under pressure, but Thalassa was chatting casually.

"Lay, you genuinely wanted to help returning students exchange resources and build their careers. That's why I agreed to come to this gathering. My wife took time out of her busy schedule to be here." Kenny leaned back in his chair, glancing at Thalassa but not Lay - yet everyone could feel Kenny's displeasure.

Kenny had always been the epitome of a gentleman.

The scene got out of control in an instant.

Burl exploded right there and then.

He snatched her spot without hesitation and hacked his way in via the ethernet cable.

"Kenny, what's up with you letting these losers push my sister around?" Burl ranted. "Call me a pretty boy? The allowance Thalassa gave me all last year doesn't even add up to a hundred bucks! And you're talking about being kept?"

The people inside the private booth were stunned.

They had no idea how he managed to appear on their screen.

Burl, still cursing, glanced at his phone and recognized the voice from the leaked video that had just been played.

Both Aurora and the girl who sent out the video were flabbergasted.

The video was only in their possession.

"Damn it!" Burl lost it again. "Aren't you all from prestigious universities? Can't you tell the difference between a fight and a hug?"

"Burl, watch your language!" Thalassa finally snapped.

"Language? Not today." Burl tossed his phone on the table and crossed his arms. "You came for Kenny but messed up by dragging me into this. Give me three minutes; I can trace the ethernet from the other side of the world to your booth and dig out every lying dog involved."

Aurora's face stiffened but then relaxed again.

She had no actual involvement from beginning to end.

She had only provided the video and photos.

Indeed, this guy couldn't locate her just through the video and photos, could he?

Impossible!

"And another thing…" Burl had to laugh despite his anger.

He picked up his phone, shaking his head. "Do you even understand how serious this is? Do you know whose kid you're calling Thalassa's illegitimate child?"

"Burl, there's a video conference going on. What are you making a racket about?"

Just then, the door behind Burl opened.

A towering figure walked in.

Those with sharp eyes were dumbfounded.

"Darwin... Darwin... Darwin!!"

Darwin glanced at the screen, his handsome face slightly displeased, and fluffed his hair. "What the hell are you doing?"

"Kenny's school friends played a dirty trick on my sister! See for yourself!" Burl grabbed a handful of his hair, handed the phone to Darwin, and continued to address the shocked crowd. "Some of you act like my sister found herself a babe or something. Do you even know who she is? Kenny's the lucky one my ister picked up, alright?"

On the other side, Darwin watched the video with disbelief.

Then he leaned forward, looking into the camera.

Thalassa vaguely heard someone excitedly exclaim, "Holy smokes, he's so hot!"

"This child is my Charles."

Everyone was puzzled.

Aurora was even more bewildered.

Ever since she captured the video, someone had been keeping tabs on her, preventing her from snooping further.
Straightening up, Darwin threatened everyone in the room. "Keep it down and find the person spreading false rumors pronto. I can't stand people who meddle in others' family business, nosing around their kids."

"Okay!"

With that, Darwin departed.

Lowering his voice, Burl continued, "What was I saying? You kids aren't afraid of dying young, are you?"

"Look, dude, we've nothing to do with this mess. It wasn't us spreading those tales. We're just here for the drama," someone quickly interjected.

His family did business with Solomon!

"No need to explain," Burl said dismissively, a smug look on his face. "Since we're being upfront, let me be straight with you. My sister is thick as thieves with Chelsea—you all know her, right?"

Heads bobbed in agreement all around the dinner table as they actively engaged with Burl.

Burl nodded contently. "She's our Sweet's BFF. I went on about 'honey this' and 'honey that' all day. Just wait. Once she's done with her meeting, I'll fill her in, and you... well, just you wait."

Thalassa had to hold back her laughter.

The usually reserved Burl was openly hilarious when he got going.

"And don't get me started on Grandma Rhoads. She adores Sweet to the moon and back..."

"Burl, that's enough. Go figure out who started the rumor. If you nail them, big bro will hook you up with a fat bonus." Thalassa couldn't stand it anymore and put a stop to Burl's mix of mockery and boastful intimidation.

"I just made a big score. Darwin just gave me a hefty payout. It's not about the money. I want these people to get it—that by marrying Kenny, he's the one benefitting."

That was his two cents.

Those his age who were tying the knot were all unreliable.
