Chapter 694 Strike to Give a Warning.
Henry watched Fiona leave.
Just as Henry was about to leave, several familiar vice presidents from Solomon quickly ran over.
They all talked at once, telling Henry what had just happened.
Henry suddenly realized.
He looked at the elevator where Fiona had left just moments ago.
Perhaps what Secretary Woods said about it being just minor trivialities was her true opinion.
Fiona had set a trap, waiting for Vincent to come and meet his doom.
Today, Fiona came here not for Vincent but to establish her authority.
Judging from the terrified reactions of these vice presidents, Secretary Woods undoubtedly succeeded.
The people at the energy company were probably already aware that Darwin's wife, like Darwin himself, could use ruthless methods.
From now on, no one in the company would dare to rebel.
Though Henry knew that Secretary Woods was highly capable, he wondered how many chances of winning he would have if he were the one opposing her, faced with her ruthless tactics in such a short span of time.
It seemed like Henry had no chance of winning.
Luckily, Henry had the position of Secretary Woods.
Fiona was unaware of Henry's many emotions.
She left Solomon Energy and walked across the street to the restaurant.
Fiona reached the intersection and looked up to see Thalassa, with three children, waving enthusiastically at her with a heart-shaped hand gesture. In that instant, all of the darkness and resentment in her heart disappeared.
A gentle smile appeared on Fiona's face as well.
After the traffic light turned green, she ran across.
Fiona touched each child's head one by one, saying, "How was your day? Are you all happy?"
"Yes!" Chicago nodded vigorously.
Then Chicago recounted where they had been today and what they had eaten, praising how good her godmother and godfather were.
"All right, talk while you eat. Mommy is starving!" Thalassa placed her hand on Chicago's head and spun her around.
Charles remained silent and held Fiona's hand. "Is work going well, Mommy?"
"I am doing very well." Fiona pinched Charles's hand. "Can you give me the password to the virus code last time?"
"Sure." Charles didn't ask any more questions.
Fiona rubbed Charles's hand with her thumb, her gaze falling on Charlotte. "And Charlotte? Are you happy today?"
Charlotte nodded earnestly.
"That's good."
"What about my father?" Charlotte knew that Christopher was now coming and going with Fiona.
"He still has to deal with some people, but he will come over once he's finished," Fiona replied.
Charlotte thought for a moment.
Then she asked, "Is he doing a good job?"
Although Charlotte was protective, her father sometimes did things his own way. This was the first time he had worked specifically for someone.
Charlotte was worried that her father, who was used to being independent, might do something out of line.
Fiona laughed at her question.
Usually, it was the parents who worried about their children's behavior.
Christopher and his daughter had switched roles for a while.
"He's doing great," Fiona answered seriously. "Your father is very careful in his work and has strong judgment. He has helped me solve a lot of problems."
Charlotte breathed a sigh of relief. "That's good."
Soon after, the group entered the restaurant.
Thalassa hurried Kenny over to take their orders.
Kenny had always been attentive and had already figured out Charlotte's likes and dislikes after having lunch with her. He had also memorized the preferences and dietary restrictions of Fiona's family.
Thalassa sometimes complains to Fiona.
How much knowledge could fit into Kenny's head? How could his memory be so good?
He was gifted an extraordinary memory.
"Fiona, I have ordered some dishes. Do you need to add anything?" Kenny handed the menu to Fiona.
Fiona waved her hand. "You are considerate. Nothing will be missed."
Kenny didn't hesitate and put the menu back in its place.
"Fiona, what's going on with the energy company?" Thalassa couldn't help but ask, "Is there anything that Kenny and I can help with?"
"Don't worry, it's a minor issue. It won't require your assistance," Fiona replied with a smile.
"Don't keep anything from me!" Thalassa said seriously.
Fiona sighed and roughly explained the situation.
"So, you came there to assert your dominance?" Kenny asked.
"You can say that," Fiona responded lightly. "If I didn't have the same influence as Darwin, it would be Vincent today, and there would be more to come tomorrow."
"And it also scares off other energy companies. Who would dare to poach employees from Solomon Energy after making such remarks?" Thalassa added.
"Yeah." Fiona nodded.
"No wonder you are the myth of Wall Street!" Thalassa proudly gave a thumbs-up.
Charlotte looked at Fiona, her eyes shining with admiration.
When she used to wander around with her father, her goal was to become a mob boss, someone domineering who could protect her father from being chased by organizations.
But now, her ambition has changed.
Charlotte wanted to become someone like Fiona, brave and powerful.
When Mr. Solomon had problems before, her father told her that he was worried Fiona wouldn't be able to handle the blow and would collapse.
But Fiona didn't falter at all.
Instead, she took over the company left by her husband.
Charlotte had experienced something similar before.
Two years ago, when they were temporarily staying at a farmer's farm, the owner of the farm accidentally died while mowing the lawn.
His wife couldn't handle it like Fiona.
Because of her deep grief, she neglected everything and fell into despair at home for half a year.
As a result, she couldn't repay her loan, and the bank repossessed the farm and house.
When Kenny chooses a restaurant, he always considers his wife's taste first.
Thalassa had been nauseous for several days.
After spending the day outside today, she hadn't thrown up much, and her appetite finally returned.
Thalassa overate at dinner.
Thalassa insisted on going for a walk with Fiona.
Kenny drove with the three kids and followed slowly along the road.
"Kenny is worth it," Fiona squeezed Thalassa's hand tightly. "As long as you have him in your life, I can be at ease."
Thalassa lowered her eyelids and sighed, "Who could have imagined that this time last year, I was still suffering from the torment of my relationship with Master? Fiona, fate is truly remarkable."
"Indeed," Fiona responded.
"You will get better too," Thalassa looked at Fiona and said gently.
"Of course." Fiona nodded. "Darwin will come back, he just needs a little more time, and I can wait."
Thalassa opened her mouth, but there were some words she never uttered.
After all, it hadn't been long since Darwin had an accident.
It was normal for Fiona to have lingering obsessions in her heart.
She could leave it as that for now.
Time healed all wounds.
After walking for a while, Thalassa felt relieved and got into Fiona's car.
The group returned to Emerald Pool.
The children each took their showers.
After Fiona gave Charles and Chicago goodnight kisses, they returned to their rooms.
