Burl got married.
It was a bit of a late marriage.

"Charles and I just got back from a business trip. She told me not to go home but to come straight here. She'll be bringing the kids over soon," Burl said, showing off like a teenager despite his age. "How about this gift? Do you like it? It's one of a kind in the world!"
"I love it! I love it so much! When I blow out the candles and make a wish for my birthday, I'll make a special wish for you!"
"Then I want to make $100 billion next year!"
"Wake up, you can dream about anything," Darwin replied mercilessly. "You haven't been to the office all year, and your major investors are very unhappy."
"Aren't you my major investor?" Burl grumbled. "Haven't I made you plenty of money?"
"Things haven't been great lately," Darwin said flatly.
Burl's smug expression faded a bit.

"I heard he's the son-in-law of Wholesome Corporation's second-largest shareholder," Fiona replied.
Wholesome Corporation was an old foreign conglomerate, but it had always been low-key, mainly operating in retail. Its supermarket chains had a significant market share worldwide.

"I heard the CEO of Wholesome Corporation is in bad shape. His eldest and second sons both want to be CEO. By releasing the chip now, the second son has secured the conglomerate's fortune, and the eldest son is going to lose," Janna said with a click of her tongue.
"Isn't that old man just over seventy?" Burl sat next to Janna. "He's pretty useless, unlike you, Janna. You'll live to be over a hundred!"
"If I reach a hundred, I'll be an old witch!" Janna gave Burl a playful slap.
