Chapter 1398
Fiona snapped, "Isn't this all because of your mom's dying wish?"
Rose shivered.
Odette's final moments flashed through Rose's mind.
Odette's bedroom was a mess, littered with empty bottles.
The bed was stained with vomit.
Odette's face was flushed, her eyes staring blankly at the small figure before her.
She exclaimed, "Remember the tragedy of me and your aunt! It's all because of that lunatic Aiden... Keep an eye on his monstrous son... If he inherits Aiden's illness, you must make the same choice I did! Promise me! Promise me!"
Odette's twisted, terrifying face was burned into Rose's memory like a scene from a horror movie.
"No!" Rose shook her head vigorously, trying to shake off the horrifying image.
She shouted, "I'm not doing this for her! Not for her!"
"Doesn't matter," Fiona said, shrugging.
Rose looked at Fiona.
She'd much prefer Fiona to be hysterical than to endure this cold, indifferent demeanor.
Fear surged over Rose like a tidal wave.
Fiona called out, "Christopher."
Christopher nodded immediately and strode towards Rose.
"What are you doing? Don't touch me!" Saying this, Rose suddenly crawled towards Fiona.
Just as she was about to reach Fiona's pant leg, a small hand grabbed hers, and the sound of bones snapping echoed.
Pain distorted Rose's face as she let out a gut-wrenching scream.
Charlotte appeared out of nowhere, crouching in front of Rose.
She tightened her grip on Rose's hand and said innocently, "Dirty things shouldn't touch Mrs. Solomon."
In the next moment, Christopher dragged Rose away and said to Charlotte, "You shouldn't touch dirty things, either!"
"I'm not dirty!" Rose struggled desperately.
At that moment, someone rushed in from outside.
"Ms. Rhoads, you promised me you wouldn't kill her!" Hubert exclaimed, seeing Christopher holding Rose and looking at Fiona.
"Hubert!" Before Fiona could respond, Rose kicked Hubert.
Because of the close distance, Hubert was hit squarely by Rose's kick.
Christopher, already fed up with her, flipped her face down and pinned her to the cold marble floor.
