Chapter 913
Leo beat his girlfriend. So he didn't think there was anything wrong with a man hitting a woman.
Moreover...
Most of the family's properties were under his father's control, and he had drained Amelia over the years.
Moreover, most of the family properties were under his father's name. Amelia had been drained by him over the years.
Otherwise, what would he have done if he hadn't inherited the properties after David's death?
"I'm just being rational. You became a homewrecker and caused someone's death; that was truly immoral. I always wondered why I was so unlucky. Now, I think it's because of all the sins you committed. Is that why I never succeed?" Leo's words struck like a thunderbolt.
Amelia was shocked that Leo turned out to be such a heartless person.
While Abigail had always thought that she and Kenny were supposed to get married for sure, before Kenny graduated, he married such a despicable woman! It was all because Amelia had committed too many sins, and the consequences had affected her!
As for David, it went without saying. These years, he had been living off his old money, unable to win at gambling.
"Go home!" David confronted Amelia, his eyes filled with killing intent!
Amelia wanted to run. But David grabbed her by the hair, cursing all the way to the parking lot, stuffed her into the car, and drove off in a cloud of dust.
Mike stood in place, watching the chaotic family leave. He sent a message to Fiona.
Mike: [They're gone.]
Fiona: [okay.]
Then Fiona put down her phone and looked towards Thalassa.
Abigail had attacked Thalassa with a shoe, but Thalassa was fine. The ones most affected were Kenny and little Chicago.
It had been a while. Chicago still refused to leave Thalassa's arms, repeatedly confirming with Thalassa that she wasn't scared and her baby wasn't scared either.
Thalassa patiently reassured her over and over again that everything was fine.
"Baby, come to Mommy," Fiona said gently.
Chicago glanced back at her, then left Thalassa's embrace, feeling insecure, and walked over to Fiona.
Fiona hugged her and sat her on the lap, asking, "Weren't you studying with Ethan? Why are you here?"
"I just felt like the baby missed me," Chicago replied with a hint of grievance.
Fiona looked at Ethan, who was standing in the corner, holding a slingshot and remaining silent.
The marble that hit the shoe just now was shot by Ethan.
"Ethan!" Thalassa called out to Ethan.
Ethan visibly became uncomfortable.
"Don't keep saying thank you all the time, I... I don't like it!" he quickly interjected.
"I'm not thanking you. I want to praise you. How did you get so good at the slingshot? You're amazing!" Thalassa said, eyes sparkling.
Ethan lowered his eyes and replied, "Practice makes perfect."
"Amazing!" Thalassa gave him a thumbs up.
"Ethan, can you teach me?" Stella raised her hand, looking very eager to learn.
Ethan looked at her in surprise.
"I'll buy you a new slingshot. Will you teach me?" Stella asked again.
"Stella, you can't," Chicago spoke up to help Ethan decline, "Ethan still needs to tutor me with my homework!"
"You're already at the top of the class. Do you still need tutoring?" Stella questioned.
"Chicago is studying next semester's textbooks now," Ethan explained.
"Alright," Stella said, disappointed.
Fiona hesitated for a moment and asked with a wry smile, "Do you really want to learn?"
"Yeah, it's awesome!" Stella nodded earnestly.
