Chapter 1389
"Let's deal with it after Monday," Fiona said.
Thalassa sighed, "You spoil him way too much. Do you really need to discuss every little thing with him? Doesn't he always listen to you anyway?"
"When it comes to spoiling husbands, I think you take the cake," Fiona said, tilting her head and giving Thalassa a playful smile.
Thalassa and Kenny were undeniably a perfect pair.
Neither of them was just the one being loved; they both wholeheartedly cherished each other.
They could sense each other's needs immediately and did their best to meet those needs right away.
To be honest, Fiona had learned a lot from Thalassa and Kenny.
"You're turning this back on me!" Thalassa's ears turned red. "Kenny is younger than me, so it's only natural that I pamper him more!"
As she spoke, she became increasingly shy.
"Lydia said she made some delicious sweet soup today. I'll go check it out!" With that, Thalassa quickly ran off.
Seeing this, Fiona shook her head with a smile.
Just then, her phone buzzed softly on the couch.
It was a call from Rose.
Fiona answered.
There was some noise on the other end.
"What's wrong?" Fiona asked.
Rose's voice had a hint of tears. "Mrs. Solomon, I'm in a bit of trouble."
Her apartment had flooded.
She explained that she had left in a hurry for a business trip and forgot to turn off the faucet at the bar. The water had been running for two days.
When she got home, the building manager and the downstairs neighbors were at her door, ready to call her.
The water had seeped through the floor and leaked downstairs.
The neighbors were furious and kept yelling at Rose, no matter how much she apologized.
They had just moved into their newly renovated apartment, and now they had to redo everything.
Rose had no experience dealing with such situations.
In a panic, she called Fiona.
Fiona quickly sent someone to handle it, and soon, the situation was resolved. Rose was brought to Emerald Pool.
She looked nothing like the polished professional she had been when she left. She was soaked, with her hair plastered to her face, looking as miserable as could be.
Fiona handed her a set of her own unworn loungewear to change into.
And Lydia brought over a bowl of hot sweet soup. "Ms. Everhart, drink this, and you'll warm up in no time!"
Rose was full of gratitude.
"So, where do you plan to stay next?" Thalassa asked with concern.
She had already planned that once Darwin returned, they would head to North Alabama immediately, taking all the pets from Emerald Pool with them. Rose couldn't stay there.
"Probably a hotel. I'll look for one near the office," Rose replied. She sounded a bit congested, her eyes red, and her expression particularly pitiful.
"Why don't you stay at Emerald Pool for now?" Fiona said gently. "You're not planning to go back to Cyberia for New Year's, and we're heading to North Alabama once Darwin gets back. If you don't mind, you can join us."
Thalassa was shocked.
She knew Fiona was worried about Rose going down the wrong path, but she had never seen her be this careful and considerate.
Thalassa was feeling a bit jealous.
"Really?" Rose asked, looking at Thalassa.
"If you want to, of course! My mother-in-law loves having company and adores pretty girls!" Thalassa said without hesitation.
Scarlet was the type who would be in a better mood just seeing a pretty girl.
Of course, being pretty wasn't enough.
If someone had a terrible personality, no matter how good-looking they were, Scarlet would see them as nothing but a rotten apple.
"That sounds wonderful! Back in Cyberia, it was always just me and Hubert for New Year's. It was so lonely."
