Chapter 1267

Hubert was quiet for a moment on the other end.

Just when Rose thought she had gotten through to him, his calm and gentle voice came back. "Rose, if you don't like this job, think of it as a vacation in Armie. I'll cover all your expenses. Armie is beautiful year-round. Just enjoy yourself."

"Hubert, what are you saying?" Rose froze.

"You're not a professional psychologist. Stop talking about patient stuff, okay?" Hubert's tone stayed gentle.

But Rose exploded.

"You like Fiona, don't you? You've treated her differently from the start!" Her voice was sharp and agitated. "You don't treat her like anyone else! Fiona is Darwin's woman. Can you change the fact that she's someone else's wife?"

"What nonsense are you talking about? You should be finishing your father's work!" Rose ranted, "But now, for a woman, you're neglecting the patients! Just to please Fiona!"

"Rose!" Hubert, usually calm, suddenly snapped, "Are you crazy?"

Rose stood there, breathing heavily.

She didn't answer and hung up.

When Hubert called back, Rose had already turned off her phone.

Thinking about Rose's strange behavior, he felt uneasy and decided to call Fiona.

Fiona had just gotten home and was helping Chicago with homework.

"Chicago, I need to take a call. Keep working on your homework." Fiona patted Chicago's head.

Chicago wasn't in the best mood today, but at least she wasn't asking to see Darwin.

"What's up?" Fiona walked to the balcony and answered Hubert's call.

"Did you read today's medical log?" Hubert asked.

"Yeah." Fiona nodded. "I was going to call you after helping Chicago with his homework. Is there something special not mentioned in the log?"

"It's about Rose," Hubert said, sounding helpless.

Fiona asked, "Is it about her not being able to leave the country?"

"Yeah, she just called me and we had a fight," Hubert chuckled bitterly.

"Well, since you brought her up, I have some questions out of curiosity." Fiona found a chair and sat down. "I think Ms. Everhart's attention to Darwin is a bit much. Do you know why?"

"I think it has something to do with her mother." Hubert thought for a moment before answering.

Fiona had read most of Marisole's information. Her sister was ten years younger, and when Aiden and Marisole passed away, she was just a teenager.

"What do you mean?" Fiona asked.

"I'm not entirely sure. When I met Rose, her mother had already passed away," Hubert replied, "Anyway, the reason I called is that I'm worried Rose might do something bad in her haste. If possible, please bring her back. I'll take responsibility for managing her."

"Do you mean she might reveal Darwin's illness and the Solomon family's matters?" Fiona asked bluntly.

Hubert said, "She shouldn't do that."

But he had a feeling Rose was becoming a bit unhinged.

"Leave her to me. You focus on the treatment," Fiona said calmly, "Don't worry, this won't get out on my end."

"Ms. Rhoads, Rose isn't a bad person. She just gets obsessive and doesn't like being forced to do things, so..." Before Hubert could finish, Fiona chuckled, "You make it sound like I'm going to kill Ms. Everhart."
