Chapter 1248

Fiona: "Hey, don't forget to eat well, sleep well, and think of me often, okay?"

Darwin stared at the note like it was the most precious thing in the world.

Tears streamed down his face, smudging the words "think of me often."

Panicking, Darwin quickly wiped the ink with his sleeve.

Hubert watched him closely.

Whoever said love was invisible?

Right now, Darwin's love was as clear as day.

"Mr. Solomon, remember the promise you made to your wife before she left?" Hubert gently placed a photo album in front of Darwin. "Once you get better and beat those hallucinations and delusions, she'll come back to take you home. Let's work hard together, don't keep her waiting too long, okay?"

Darwin didn't say a word.

He picked up the photo album. The cover was clearly drawn by Chicago.

Through words and brushstrokes, the creator can convey their emotions at that moment.

Darwin could feel that when Chicago drew this cover, she was incredibly happy.

He opened the album.

The first page had a selfie of Chicago, and Darwin smiled as soon as he saw it, but the tears wouldn't stop.

Next to Chicago was a photo she took of Charles, who always looked so serene but was willing to look into Chicago's camera.

As he flipped further, there were pictures of flowers, birds, fish, insects and scenes of everyone happily playing during that camping trip.

However, there was no Fiona.

Darwin flipped to the end but didn't see a single photo of her.

He felt even more sorrowful.

"Can't I even see a photo?" Darwin looked at Hubert, as pitiful as a puppy lost in the rain.

"Darwin, focus on getting better first. Let me find the root cause of your illness. I promise you, if you start to improve, I'll arrange for Mrs. Solomon to visit you, okay?" Hubert said gently, "You don't want her to see you like this, angry and not yourself, right?"

Darwin's hand trembled.

He thought again of that night at the bottom of the lake.

Despair and helplessness washed over him like a tide, and he felt like he was suffocating.

At that moment, he saw Fiona's letter again: "Hey, don't forget to eat well, sleep well, and think of me often, okay?"

He clutched his chest, trying to catch his breath, then looked at Hubert. "I want to eat something."

Hubert immediately smiled. "Alright, here's the menu. You can order whatever you like."

Darwin had no particular cravings.

Everything seemed tasteless to him now.

He replied, "Anything is fine, as long as it fills me up."

Hubert didn't force him.

Fiona had told him what Darwin didn't like to eat.

Avoiding Darwin's dislikes, Hubert ordered the food for him.

Darwin ate with great difficulty.

Considering Fiona's words, he managed to force himself to eat about half of the food.

Compared to not eating at all, this was already a significant improvement.

Hubert was very pleased.

Just as he was about to leave, he heard Darwin say, "Let's start the treatment tomorrow. I'll cooperate with you."
