Chapter 1349
The Solomon Group's latest financial report was still looking pretty good, especially after they upgraded their AI at the start of the month. The new features really beefed it up.
Phoenix Prism, which was barely hanging on before, finally made some money this quarter. And it wasn't just because of the Solomon Group AI.
They also tried out a new way of running things.
On the first workday after Christmas, the company had its quarterly and annual summary meeting.
As soon as Fiona got to the president's office, Rose came in with a hot cup of coffee.
"Back from your trip? I heard you fixed a big issue this time—nice job," Fiona said, glancing at Rose.
This was the first time they'd seen each other since Fiona took Rose to the capital city.
Rose had changed a lot.
She wasn't wasting time anymore and had jumped right into the project Fiona gave her when she first joined the Solomon Group.
And she really did fix a major problem.
"That project's almost done, and another team will keep it going. Mrs. Woods, I want to go home for a bit; it's my mom's death anniversary in a few days," Rose said, looking down. "Don't worry, I won't go to the lab."
Fiona looked at Rose again. "Okay, go talk to HR about your leave, and I'll approve it."
Rose was surprised. She was ready to have a long talk with Fiona.
She didn't expect Fiona to agree so easily.
"Thanks, Mrs. Woods! I'll go right away!" Rose snapped out of it, smiling with joy, and then jogged out of the president's office.
Fiona watched Rose leave, her beautiful eyes deep in thought.
Soon, Fiona headed to the conference room for the meeting.
From eight in the morning until five in the afternoon, except for a quick lunch break, Fiona barely rested.
Luckily, the folks at the Solomon Group not only admired her but also respected her now.
Compared to when Fiona first took over the company at the start of the year, the general managers from different branches were much more cooperative and obedient.
There were also fewer fake accounts and data shown to Fiona.
The rules were set at the beginning of the month.
They could lose money, but they must never commit fraud.
If they lost money, the company would help them figure out why.
But if they faked anything, even once, the company would immediately liquidate.
With these rules, Fiona saved herself a lot of headaches.
Back in the office, Fiona had a small meeting with Henry and a few other VPs, and by five-thirty, Fiona was ready to go home.
Charles and Chicago should be home by now.
Fiona put on her coat, grabbed her briefcase, and headed straight to the garage.
Just as she was about to get in the car, she heard someone calling her from behind. "Mrs. Woods!"
Fiona turned around.
She saw Rose walking up with a paper bag.
"I've already approved your leave," Fiona said.
