Chapter 1364

"Mrs. Walker, you look stunning," Rose said.

She remembered what folks online had said about Kenny, who quickly married Ashton and was head over heels for her.

"You look amazing too!" Ashton replied with a grin. "What's that you've got there?"

"Oh, just a little gift. Happy New Year." Rose quickly handed it over.

Lyold took it right away.

Fiona said, "Take care of this. I'm heading upstairs to change."

"Mommy, I'll come with you!" Chicago immediately clung to Fiona.

"Charlotte, you coming?" Fiona extended her hand to Charlotte.

Charlotte really liked Fiona but wasn't great at making the first move, often just staring at Fiona with wide eyes.

Seeing Fiona's invitation, she stepped forward obediently.

"Your hairstyle looks awesome," Fiona praised, patting her head.

Charlotte's cheeks turned a bit red. "Dad messed it up, so I found a tutorial online and fixed it myself."

"Next time, don't let your dad near your hair. When it grows out, I'll take you to a salon," Fiona said.

Chicago chimed in, "And don't let Uncle Christopher cut your nails either."

"Mommy, look at Charlotte's fingers!" Chicago complained indignantly.

Fiona took Charlotte's hand and noticed a scab on her middle fingertip. "What happened here?"

"Uncle Christopher cut her nails and messed it up!" Chicago angrily reported.

Fiona frowned. "I'll have to talk to him later!"

If it were someone else, Charlotte would definitely say, "No!"

But with Fiona, it was okay.

Rose stood there, watching them head upstairs.

That peculiar Charlotte, whose body language showed a strong dependence on and trust in Fiona.

How strange.

"Rose, come to the living room. There's plenty of food. Do you have any favorite movies or TV shows? I can put one on for you!" Ashton warmly invited Rose while holding Melissa's chubby little hand.

Rose withdrew her gaze and replied, "I'm good with anything!"

As they walked inside, Rose looked around.

This place was different from what she had imagined.

She had thought that where Darwin lived would be very dark.

But here, even though it was sunset, the place radiated warmth and coziness.

Everyone here seemed very happy.

Even the busy servants were all smiling.

Upon hearing that Fiona had returned, Burl and Wyatt emerged from the study. Wyatt gave Rose a casual nod before asking, "Where's Fiona?"

"She went to change," Ashton replied, handing the eager Melissa to Burl.

Burl was overjoyed.

He lifted Melissa and started playing with her.

Ashton pushed some delicious food in front of Rose. "Make yourself at home."

"Thank you," Rose said, her cheeks flushed.

Wyatt sat down on a single sofa quite far from Rose.

He didn't like Rose.

He also knew Fiona didn't like her.

So now that Rose was at Emerald Pool, he was quite curious.

Before long, Kenny also returned.

He came back with Burl and the others. When he got home, he first looked at Ashton, then said he had something to do and ran out again. Ashton wondered what he was up to.

Seeing the large bags he brought back, Ashton understood.

Kenny spent the whole afternoon running around Bay City, buying all of Ashton's favorite snacks.
